I applaud the motion, but back it up with action.

At the moment the AFL stands for its boys club above all else, including a voice against gender-based violence.

Taryn Thomas will get another opportunity if the “right” club (Pies, Geelong, Carlton, etc) wants him and it will be touted as a success story by the same media shills always under the thumb of AFL House.

Here's an idea for the AFL, lifetime bans for any player/administrator /media accreditation holder found guilty of domestic violence/ gender based violence.

Do that and they can be taken seriously, otherwise it's just words which will be contradicted by actions when TT, or equivalent gets their 2nd, 3rd, 4th chance.

There's no automatic right to play professional football. A surprising number of people don't, and they get along fine.

It's not an insinuation. The definition of domestic violence explicitly puts Thomas in the same class of guys who kill their wives, girlfriends, etc.: "any violent, threatening, coercive or controlling behaviour that occurs in current or past family, domestic or intimate relationships".

Allegedly multiple escalating acts which can lead to the worst offences. Allowing him to ever play professional football again sends a clear green light to abusers.

You think the whole thing is made up? Put your tinfoil hat back on. Its clear as day, he's admitted wrong doing himself in the past.

Very, and I mean very few things actually go to court, almost everything is settled out of court which is exactly what happened to the charges laid against him. On his part he had to make a donation to charity and what would have been a private settlement with the victim.

If he were innocent he would likely be telling people as such.

My understanding is that both Male and female players are involved in the program both in person and online.
