with the bias hat on Longer had 40 more hit outs in 4 less games, tough bench to get on though, Swallow and Ellis were better than the majority of those on field

Don't even know why they bother with a ruck if the best options are Witts and Longer. It should be ruck/key forward so Lynch could get in.

If you're holding down the ruck at under 22 unless you are exceptional it's more likely it just means your first ruck is injured or no good. And it doesn't really give a guide to long term success. I suppose it's an achievement award but if the player is delivering so much less than the smalls and other talls it's a bit of waste of a spot
