no way goddard makes it. i might be biased but theres no way this can be correct. nic nat and taylor make the cut but not jacobs and talia? two better players in the same position? and rance is 19th in the league but talias not even top 50? talia is on rances level if not higher

You might be underselling rance a bit here, especially compared to 2015

Talia is great n all, very good lock down defender etc

But he didn't even make the 2015 40 man AA squad, compared to Rance who has been AA the last 2 years

Not unreasonable to think Rance might be ranked higher

Luke Hodge is such an overrated player. No doubt he'll be there though.

Also, Talia is never rated by his peers. I never hear a forward say he is the hardest to match up on even though week in week out he tears forwards a new one.

I just rate him. Almost as much as he rates himself. He's their only genuine top tier player. Gray not far behind. Boak a long way back. After that, the cupboard is bare.

Ollie Wines not nearing on a top tier talent? He's pretty much elite at anything you want in an inside mid.

Let's wait until Wines has made an AA or finishes top 5 club b&f before we start calling him "elite". He is very good and shows a lot of promise but that's it at the moment.

Martin, Rance, Parker, Boak, Roughhead, Gray, Priddis, for starters. You could argue the 2 Kennedys and Hannabery. And I don't think Ablett and Franklin should be in there either - both are practically retired now.

I don't think Luke Hodge is over-rated, he is an absolute gun. What don't you rate about him?

Don't get me wrong he is a good player, a very good player even. It's when I start to see him in Mike Sheahan's top 50 of the past 25 years is when he starts to get overrated (listed at #15 ). This is a gross exaggeration of his abilities.

I also don't think he belongs in the top 10 current players, I'd put him in the 30-40 range TBH. He just lacks that star power and freakish raw ability that those in the top 10 should possess.

Just quietly, Wingard should be top 10.

Better than Boak? Yes. Better than R Gray? No. Top 10? Not yet. Ask again in a few years.

Isn't even the best in his own team at present. But he's very very good, and still young. Here's hoping his dream of 100 AFL games before playing basketball isn't still on his agenda.
