AFL Round 15 - COLLINGWOOD V CARLTON - Friday 7.50 MCG - Changes and Prematch Discussion

Geez this week has dragged out for me , so anxious for this game to start . Come tomorrow I'll be foaming at the mouth , ****ing bury these pricks , have a good Friday night people.

mattys123 & Scodog10 I have seen probably ten or more vfl games that he's played in, including the recent game vs coburg. Admittedly that's the worst I'd personally seen him play. Hes been pretty scheisen, but showed glimpses in the ruck. Liked him playing in defence as a learning tool.

I agree that it was an experiment. But sometimes you've gotta just throw someone in the deep end and hope they swim. Some players, at all levels of footy, simply don't develop in the ressies. I just think he has the athleticism and sporting IQ to have a chance. And I don't think it would cost us anything to test him out.

If we were struggling I'd cop that, however we're fighting it out for a premiership and he simply doesn't fit into those calculations considering he's played the one game at VFL level in the ruck this year. I just don't see him having a future so there is no point in playing him IMO.

FWIW he'd be fourth in line as a KPD and at best 3rd in line as a ruck and considering we're only playing the one ruck there just isn't room for him unless he can become a goal kicker to replace Dawes. From what I've seen of him, ability as a forward is one thing he doesn't have.

I couldn't disagree more strongly, Shae should never play for us, ever, unless maybe it's a game we have 0% chance of losing, say vs the Suns or Giants.

He doesn't have the talent to be a VFL footballer, let alone an AFL footballer, and most who have watched him plenty of times at VFL level will agree with me.

Ceglar was in the best players in the VFL last week, so he has form right there to be placed in front of Shae in the pecking order straight away.
I totally agree, he is a bum...he would struggle to get a kick in the VFL development league (2's) or even the EDFL/NFL seniors (Northern).

He is there because he is a yank, plain and simple.

Benny, google has your answer:

My car ran out of gas on the way to work. I was pushing it to a gas station and I got a stomach hernia and I have to go to the doctors.

As an athlete might be hard to get away with that one say you have to rock up to training or something.

Had to be rushed to hospital for coffee burns on my lap be in tomorrow!

Another injury one but might be easier to recover from/soldier on through hence more believable.

I cant come to work today because the council (or should we say county) is paving my street and I cant get out!

Does your boss know where you live?

These might not work but you could try:

Hello, I've used all of my sick days and I'm calling in dead.
If it is all the same to you, I won't be coming in to work. The voices told me to clean all the guns today.
When I got up this morning, I took two Ex-Lax in addition to my Prozac. I can't get off the john, but I feel good about it.

brilliant lol, thats defo give me some food for thought, the last 1 is a clinker lol

Sub = Paine hopefully.

They beat us with pace last time and gone into this with smallest, fastest team within reason, really.

Interesting 'Brown' has been named in the VFL side
?? late withdrawal here - does he have a match up?

My neighbour uses his annual leave to watch live basketball and footy when it coincides with his work. I guess it helps to have an employer who asks no questions.

That's strange wonder why? Hopefully a error.

How will he get his 3 votes this round if he's sub?
He'll come on and dominate the last quarter kicking 6 and setting 7 up. Pretty simple really.

Really?
I hope not, he's been in good form and even though Warnock has been dropped I'd like to see him played on Hampson and let Reid run free!!!

I am kind of surprised that Paine kept his spot over Mooney, but perhaps he matches up better against the Blue's defence or Dawes is going to spend more time rucking. Did Paine play in the first game against Carlton? In Mooney, Sinclair, Elliott and Blair we'd have a great little midget fleet, though obviously height is deemed more important against Carlton. It may be premature, but I'm sorry Mooney didn't get another game. He looked quick and hard, laying 2 lightning tackles and featuring in some clever passages of play.

Who is going to believe future dates fixed for players to return from injury? Current experience suggests that doubling the club's initial estimate helps absorb the impact of inevitable disappointment.

I actually think they have been more honest this year.
And really as a supporter, I kind of want them to keep things a little close to the chest...why give other teams too much info? Also, as have been mentioned (I think) in this thread and others, they tend to give a ?-? weeks; often it is the players suggesting they will be ready sooner.

I love this years management of injuries.

Took a sleeping pill and couldn't wake up?

I don't think Pendlebury will resume until the Hawks. His tweet today didn't fill me with confidence.

When I went to the WC game a couple of weeks back they interviewed Pendles at half time and he didn't sound confident at all.

Either his had a setback or his injury was worse then what the club told us.
