Really big one. We have stepped up well each time we needed to win this season. Adelaide was a surprise at the time, Melbourne a win we needed to take scalp and Essendon last week not to lose our momentum.

This week bigger than any of those. We need this win if we want to be top 4. We can do it. Go Pies

Huge Game win pretty much lock in September.

I hope the eagles don't make any late changes cause they are to tall, but i have a feeling one of Kennedy, Darling, Waterman wont be playing.

good to see Darcy back and hopefully he can get a good run at it foe the rest of the season!!!

Pies Win by 21pts.

Mate imagine how brilliant you would be if you had another half a brain.
Imagine how brilliant you’d be if you had half a brain in the first place. You might even be able to detect jokes on Internet forums!

Anyone reccomend a good place to watch in Cairns?
Boardwalk is nice you get a view of the ocean, inlet, birds etc

For the game, I always went the hotel I was staying

Beautiful place

Top spot beckons boys, pump these Weags by 80 odd and it’s ours!
Actually we’re 144 points “away” from Richmond thus far in FOR and AGAINST points.
Meaning we’d have to win by (or slightly higher taking into account % variation) 145 points which is 24 goals and a behind.
Probably not in keeping with likelihood.

1st v 2nd no real difference in practical terms

Heart says Pies head says Eagles.

We haven’t played well in a month and they look too dangerous up forward.

Eagles by 19.

PS Is the Holden Centre store open today?

Happy game day folks!

My dad is in his mid 70s and is a lifelong magpie fanatic. Lives and breathes Collingwood. Today and next week are his only live games for the year aside from the preseason game against the Giants. He recently gave up driving and isn't as sharp of mind as he used to be.

Fingers crossed the boys can get up for him today.

Go Pies!

When we beat Adelaide and Melbourne they were both above us on the ladder, in the 8 and clear favourites so the argument we "haven't beaten anyone" does not apply for those 2 games at least
Also more difficult to beat an inform team like Essendon than a team in the 8 playing unconvincing footy.

It’s open, tell ‘em jmac sent you.

Kind of agree that our form post bye has been a bit ordinary

Up til 3/4 time last week I was even more worried about our form but the boys showed some fight to win that game which was heartening

Really hard one to pick, really respect WC and the way they have played this year, I just hope we can win

Don't talk rationally with me tickle.
When it come to Collingwood ration goes out the window for me.
I'm nervous.
And I won't lie.
If we win I will be thinking that we beat a side who can't win on the G instead of thinking we have just won 8 in a row.
8!!! That's huge.
But I will continue to be nervous.
Years of watching us lose grand finals has made me very wary.
I'm nervous.
I dont;' think there's any doubt we are top 8 standard, but jury still out on top 4. Winning today will def mean something but not quite enough for the top 4 jury.other issue is late season collapse in recent years, have def lasted longer this year but still a few weeks to go. I think if we win then beat north and at least get within 6 goals of Richmond we are legitimately top 4. If we beat richmond that's another quantum leap.

true but lower sides usually have a couple of fluke wins over top sides every year, so doesn't mean a huge amount. I do agree with you though but not just based on wins.

Agree with that. Essendon were on the charge and many (including me) thought they'd beat us. Adelaide and Melbourne were both third and considered premiership contenders when we beat them. For those reasons alone, I don't see how the 'beaten nobody' theory stands up to scrutiny.
Also, I didn't see the Giants game, but they were on top at the time and most people seemed to think we were either unlucky or robbed in that game.
