AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
The point I was making is that he has steadily improved throughout the season in both respects, and that neither statement is true now. The poster's comments were obviously based on conclusions based on early observations, which have become personal biases set in concrete, unshaken and unmoved by changes in circumstances and facts.
He is now a more than useful 2nd/3rd ruckman, and has been ever since the season's half-way mark (whenever he has been played as such), especially at boundary throw-ins and as 3rd man up, which is a matter of simple observation.
His season-long ruck stats (and last season's) are no longer relevant, first because of this improvement, and secondly because they include games where he simply didn't ruck at all.
The suggestion that he's poor under pressure may have been true last season, in a couple of finals, in his 20th game or thereabouts. As a matter, again, of simple observation, it is demonstrably untrue now. His coolness under pressure is a marked feature of his play, especially in the context of his inexperience. He ain't perfect, but he's better in this respect that many, many sub-40 gamers.
I'd reckon most would've picked that this week- so everyone gets a sausage from the meat tray or a bite of a chocolate from the box of choccies! In: Blicavs, Christensen
Out: Simpson, Hartman
Don't mind those changes myself
That's best available22, ain't it?
Given Carlton play tonight, I could eat it at mick's BBQ tomorrowI'd reckon most would've picked that this week- so everyone gets a sausage from the meat tray or a bite of a chocolate from the box of choccies!
He won 19 hitouts against the bulldogs and 14 against Melbourne in his most recent games so he's improving and getting a lot more of the ball as well. I would have thought rotating ruckman is the best policy if Simpson has no tank.We haven't played any finals like games since Hawthorn earlier in the year (I wont count the Sydney game since we were destroyed)
Blicavs has still made plenty of mistakes this season, being caught holding the ball many times. He has also been hidden a lot in the backline.
As a pure no2 ruck he is yet to prove himself. 11.2 disposals a game and 6.8 hitouts. He should be getting somewhere around 15 hitouts a game as a no2 ruck especially when he ends up rucking against forwards and not many genuine no2 rucks. (even including his games as a sub or defender 6.8 hitouts a game is pathetic)
I'd love to see him get 15 possessions and 15 hitouts against a top 4 team but when finals comes around he will be lucky to get 10 and 10.
You reckon it'd be a BYO, NSFB?Given Carlton play tonight, I could eat it at mick's BBQ tomorrow

Read the post above, from Sleazy. Well, to be fair, you need to read his post before that one as well. He reckons the 'whingefest about selections' is coming... then cue your posthuh?
i wasnt whinging. I acknowledged that there is no one that deserves or should come out of the side. i just really like Simpson and hartman. When you use the words "you're late" it really stresses me out.Read the post above, from Sleazy. Well, to be fair, you need to read his post before that one as well. oops- sorry- didn't mean to stress you. I assumed you'd have read the posts above yours and mine would have made sense. I understand that not everyone is happy with the team selections each week- I can't fit Hartman into my 22 right now, though maybe Murdoch would go if Hartman was to squeeze in. Anyway, I guess we've just got to wait for game day to see if one of Bews, Lang or Simpson will get a game, as they're the emergencies this week.i wasnt whinging.
