Congrats to Lions fans, a gutsy effort after losing Drummond to injury. I like that Corrie kid, did some impressive things.
Yep but he still fails to compete on occasions. Half hearted efforts at tackles and a couple of missed shepherds isn't good enough in a team game. You can instill that though.

Well done Lions! I hope TJ and the rest of your crew have a great year. 2 point win against the filth is still 1 point too many though.;)

OMG you should hear some of the Collingwood supporters talk shit about how the umpiring was sooooo unfair. Absoulte rubbish. But some of them are very pleased that we produced such a good game. And i know the free kick count was in our favour, but as i said there, if you give them away, the oppostion is going to get them. That's how footy is played. Of course there would've been a few dodgy ones but again, it happens in every game.

I just want to say two things.

1. Good game, edge of the seat stuff well done Brisbane in the end.

2. And Tim the Toolman said he thought Brisbane got given the game by the umps :D

Didn't really need to share the last one but I thought it would annoy the crap out of him!

Enjoy the Victory and hopefully the next game is as equally exciting.

Just can't wait to see what we might do to sides if we start winning some clearances. Both weeks we have been slaughtered in this area.

Felt for Hendo the game just looked to be a blur to him.

Gutsy win with lots of improvement to come (I hope).

Great win! Love the team, love the players and love the club! Good times!:thumbsu: Since when do we win the close ones?:D

Brisbane was ****ing ace tonight. Played with great courage and the intensity had me shaking. Brown, thought disappointing for a fair bit of the game, showed up for a patch in the final quarter and stamped his authority. He kept us in it when we needed it.

TJ was brill, his kicking was fantastic. Good to see him get in the thick of it when needed. That is something I didn't think he was able to do, but he proved me wrong. I have him earmarked for a Top 5 finish in Brisbane's B&F.

Adcock just showed why he's so important to the Lions, apart from kicking the vital goal, he was one of the few who was busting their guts late in the third when things weren't going Brisbane's way.

Hooper did well, he exerted fantastic pressure and did some inspiring stuff when he had the ball. I consider him more midfielder rather than forward now.

Proud did well in my opinion. He hardly wasted the ball (a few exceptions) and as the game was slowing down and became sluggish, he was throwing himself into packs and at opponents when it was really going to hurt. He is a damaging player and I am excited at where he'll be by the end of the season.

The rest of the forward line did very well, the moved well created space and applied solid pressure to strangle Collingwood's rebounds. It can only improve.

Black, Power, Lappin and Notting are a fantastic group. Communication and awareness amongst these fellas was exciting. They know each other well and got Brisbane rolling when it was needed.

Sherman, in my opinion, is lacking match time (thus isn't at his best as of yet) but was very solid. He played tight and won his share of contests. His disposal and movement is great and is showing good signs.

Begley, Patfull, Merrett are the vital players in defence. They hardly lose a contest and have, and will, improve more as the season progresses. I am very excited with this trio.

I miss him. Still soft as a pillow though.
Wrong, he isn't soft **** now that he has moved away from Melbourne. He was hard when he needed to be, that's all that si asked of him. His role is to shake whatever take he may recieve and be on the recieving end of ball gets and use his weapons to Brisbane's advantage. When things weren't going the team's way, Trapper threw himself in and did what he could to help win.

I am looking forward to the contest against Sydney next week. I think Proud will really shine and prove his worth against them, too.

Colm Begley was clueless whenever he had the ball.. and its fair to say proud struggled first up lol

Bit harsh on Colm I reckon. He just seems to have a permanent 'clueless' expression when on the field. The kid is showing more than a bit of promise, and doesn't seem to back down from trying to follow his orders to the letter.

I counted 8 out on the fulls on C'wood's behalf, subtract those from the total and the margin would be more fair.

Bullshit umpiring in the last quarter.

Lockyer was stupid, but those other free kicks, ie. Brown free kick, and Black free kick were not there.

What about when Black got hit in the head by Johnson and didn't get the free? Or the "one-handed handball"? Just two instances but as bad as the umpiring was it wasn't biased either way...
