Having a fair bit of the ball, just breaking down in and around the fwd 50 half forward, then the kick inside fwd 50 equally isn't good. Hawkins not playing well doesn't look to be leading up to the ball well...

Also, we are winning Clearances and Contested possessions as well..

If Hawk starts to clunk a few or even just be smarter and take Richards away from the contest it could give us a massive advantage. It's a double negative at the moment, Hawk is doing 2 parts of F all and Richards is setting up play and being damaging

Hawkins has to be subbed out.

No interest or effort tonight. We can swap his position for a small speedy forward that will most likely get out marked as much as Hawkins is but at least offers more when the ball is on the ground.

Hawkins head isn't there tonight
Or put Taylor in his place, dirty night for the tomahawk

About 10 blokes don't even seem to be trying. Umps keeping us in it.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say the 6 day breaks are catching up to some guys.

Hawkins gone back 3 years in a time machine tonight
It's hardy his fault when we're bombing without looking to a 3 on 1 contest.

We need to be more patient and not play to their strength.

A massive clunk by the Hawk would set this game on its ear. Even though he's playing like a goose, you "just get the feeling" to quote Brucie that he may come good and be the game changer.

I love the way Sydney play. They're playing like us. God I hope Jetta doesn't cut loose.

tough match, both teams very willing - we've got no shortage of players willing to put their nut over the pill and that's encouraging; all our inside mids have contributed; Selwood had an excellent 2nd quarter, Horlin-Smith is really announcing himself and Joel Corey also got better as it went along.

Sydney are no slouches, they are the reigning premiers, they have the experience to adapt to different game plans and a good coach in Longmire. I know we're not quite the Geelong side of '09-'11 *yet*, but I still reckon we shade them for overall class - if we can match them for another half physically then I think we'll continue to earn our opportunities and hopefully make the most of them.

Caddy could be handy when he is introduced, Smedts is looking a possibility of being subbed out I think.

Blicavs has been very good, Stokes' good form continues - Duncan has been poor, Jimmy been only ok imo

It's driving me insane. If we started to show a little more respect for our man (bit better in the 2nd half of that 1/4) then we will win this match. Your call of Hunt on to McVeigh is a good one. He's their midfield game breaker.

Which raises the question - why wasn't he on him from the start? Only cost us 2 goals. Same with Taylor on Goodes. He finally goes onto him that quarter and outmarks him.
