Encouragement award this week.. Thurlow well done on G1. Knows how to find the ball. Might well be a very good sub.

I think that's a very good suggestion about his possibilities as a sub, he certainly had a rep as a ball magnet in the juniors, did he not?

5. SJ - The good and the bad together make pretty damn good
4. Stokes - He is all that and more
3. Motlop - One of the most exciting players to watch, kicking let him down or else BOG
2. Pods - Really rate his game, just needs to fix his kicking again
1. THurlow - What an awsom opening game
Shout out to Blitz, Smedts, Jimmy, Kels, Doms
Could easily have picked 12 solid performances, thought this was a great team effort

5. SJ
4. Boris
3. Stokes
2. Motlop
1. Domsy

Pods, Ballroom, Thurlow, Smedts, Guthrie, and Bartel all unlucky to miss.

Feel Kelly has been left out a bit here.

Ruck/clearances going the other way most of the night but he's a real battering ram, so often got the ball going back our way slightly from the bottom of a pack - ie, from a 40/60 to a 60/40 situation.

5 - Kelly.
4 - Johnson
3 - Motlop.
2 - Lonergan.
1 - Stokes.

HMs to the two backline generals - Enright and Enright Jnr (Guthrie.)

4. Stevie J
3. Motlop

1.Lonergan
Stokes gets the 5 cause he kicked 3 and overall disposal better than Johnno's.
Motlop was our most dangerous forward and if he had of kicked straight could easily have got the 5.
Lonners not only did his job but kicked 2 very important goals.
Enright was Enright.

1. Billy Smedts
Not a bad call. I've admired Billie's resilience this year after going through a bit of a lean patch, and it's great to see a light-framed kid really getting stuck in against big-bodied sides like Hawthorn and Essendon.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play in a few years with another five-six kilos on him.
