AFL seeks compensation for World Cup disruption

It's kind of hard to make a 100k stadium that meets safety standards when they play on a rectangular pitch dumbass.

How so? I don't have a background in engineering but the shape of the pitch shouldn't have an overall impact on the safety of the ground itself. In fact, theres quite a few rectangular grounds with high capacity (in excess of 100k).

Please, continue this line of argument. I can see it going well for you.

Love the facts that you left out.

- That half the stadia at any given WC are usually 40000 or less capacity.
- That AFL games are usually played at huge oval stadia.
- That the AFL average attendance is fuelled by a few very big clubs.

Soccer supporters seem to love telling those who are complacent about the game, how ignorant they are.
But one of the main topics on this thread is FIFA's requirement that all stadiums be a minimum seated capacity of 42000.
Minimum would suggest that some of them are 42000, and some are bigger.
