AFL Silver Membership Waitlist Number Part 2

Also wondering: The AFL membership says I ‘count towards my club’s membership tally’.

If I wanted to have guaranteed access to purchase a club-participating Grand Final ticket (2025 and beyond) but still wanted to be an AFL member, would I need to…

a) Be an AFL Bronze member AND club member AND purchase the club premiership member add on? or…

b) Be an AFL Bronze member + just purchase the club premiership member add on, as I already count towards the club member tally (Is this even possible?)

Thanks in advance!

"I think silver club support should have priority over gold non club support"

Each club is different. I know Carlton you only go into the GF ballot after 10 years continuous lower tier membership as priority 3 but other clubs might go straight into the ballot.

Unless you are keen to see non Geelong games I think a higher tier Cats membership will be better overall. You'll be waiting 50 years to get to gold

Well if ever we wanted a test to see if there’s enough seats for Silvers to get a chance here it is.
I doubt it. They'll flog off seats to the Corprates and give just enough for the club support golds.

Agree but it's still not the bets combo, it's hardly GWS vs. Freo or similar.

Richmond allow you to add on a Grand Final Guarantee (Maurice Rioli Club) to your AFL Membership. They also allow you to add on a Reserved Seat/Bay membership (including the ones that have a Grand Final Guarantee attached) at a discounted cost. I would contact the Geelong Membership department and ask them what your options are.

I’d guess a year currently, depending on how many Bronze members there are and how many Silver drop off each year.

Thanks very much folks - appreciate the help.

was planning on purchasing an AFL Silver membership with Carlton Club support after seeing most of the top tier club memberships are on waitlists.

wonder what the turnaround time will now be to be elevated to Silver.
Silver to Gold would now be 25-30 years.

I have friends whom are 14 years in and still Silver were told 7-8 years at the time.

This was a 2010-11 sign up, as there was a massive influx after Collingwoods 2010 Premiership.

You may be better served looking at premium club memberships with shorter waiting times, AFL Gold is only going to be a longer wait every year that goes by.

I have 3121 and AFL membership so I get my 3121 at a cheaper price. But I am considering changing my AFL membership team of support to tassie when they come in.

What do you reckon the odds of silver making the cut for a ticket

I'm 10 years silver and I'm like 9005. When I joined it was a 10 year wait apparently. So times have really blown out

There'll be structural chances over the course of the next decade or two, both because of the fact that the Shane Warne stand will be redeveloped and just that the status quo can't be maintained as proven by the survey questions.

Once we're talking to 15-25 years it's impossible to know what the nature of the membership will even look like by then.
