There's ppl that signed up after you that are gold which means there musnt be any pies gold positions available

I joined in 2008.
I became a Gold member in 2016.
The wait time now is huge anyone from about 2010 onwards seems be years away.
No one has waited 30 years, in fact I don’t think anyone has waited half of that yet, that is just your prediction for the future which may or may not become true.
But what is the alternative? It has to be capped, and if existing members can successfully 1) not die and 2) pay their money each year, they are not going to be kicked out.
Both AFL and MCC membership is such a valuable commodity that very few voluntarily give it up.
Joined late Jan 2011, got gold this year.
Collingwood played in three grand finals in 2010/11. Many Pies fans missed tickets and joined the AFL which saw a big spike.
Along with many of your Collingwood mates - hence the reason the reserve is nearly sold out every C’wood game even if the rest of the ground is far from full.
I saw these people queuing on the news a few years ago. I am pretty sure thet were AFL members. It was some sort of tradition for them to do this every year. Pretty stupid tradition in this day and age if you ask me.

I joined in 1994 and took up gold in 1998.
Wife 2002 and 2009.
Kids 2010 and 2022.
I reckon it does, I joined in 2003 or 4 and got full membership sometime around 2014. Yet others joined at same time and even later and got it earlier.

The AFL have explicitly stated that they don't cap club support numbers but they also stopped publicising the breakdown by club support about 10 years ago. I don't trust anything they say but that is their position.
I joined 05 and was full by 12.

Thats when thousands of pie fans joined when they realised there was a better chance of getting a gf ticket rather than be a normal member

yeh the gap between late 2010 to mid 2011 is massive
hopefully get gold for the new season
The medallion club and other high level interstate team memberships for locals has corrupted the system . Hundreds of seats are no longer available for potential upgrades to gold

They don't fall off the list looking at their normal match days in the reserve
And now gold club support gets first dibs at gf tickets

Still tossing up if I can be bothered going this year. Feels like a waste to give up the best perk of the membership, but still a bit raw about the prelim.
