Who knows? On one hand it says you can get a level 2 seat without having to pay for an upgrade, on the other it says it will be $49, which is a hell of a lot more than $9.50 for level 1 or $0 for walk up.
I tried it out and Ticketmaster wanted $49.
Unless they are saying you can reserve for $49 or do a walk up to level 2 for nothing, but I doubt that is the case. It looks like Ticketmaster and/ or AFL incompetence.

It was in an email from AFL membership
I would say $49 a game and no upgrade is referring to them offering a package last year that allowed people to then sit on level 2. So they are effectively saying you can purchase reserved seats on level 2 and don’t require an addition to your membership to do so.

Ok that makes a bit more sense - so anyone can reserve level 2 tickets at $49 a game whereas last year it was only if you upgraded your membership? I don't recall hearing that last year and I thought you could reserve level 2 seats last year as well on a per game basis

I have not yet paid my membership fee for this year and am now hesitant to given this whole games behind closed doors and even called off possibility. Does anyone know how long into the season you have to pay before it's cancelled, you have to apply again and are shunted to the back of the line for gold etc?

Just write to them and take an absentee membership this year

I remember something going around on here that only some people saw? Something about an upgrade? Anyway I didn't know you could reserve seats on level 2 last year? I never went to Marvel last season.

Anyone else not bothering with securing Anzac Day tickets this year in the likelihood of NO spectator access - or actual game ?

I got the ANZAC Day tickets easily enough but Ticketek was sending me error messages afterwards, but I'm not sure why.
The money has been taken out of my credit card and I've printed the tickets so hopefully all is well.

Anyone else have issues?

Meh ... didn't even bother with ANZAC Day tix this year ... no way it goes ahead (or if it does will be without a crowd)

Better to avoid the struggle and stress with Ticketek in trying to get a refund

Just checked ... still Level 1 Open available at 40 minutes past 9 ... normally whole ground sold out in 10 minutes

I'm not bothering. Can't be bothered trying to deal with refunds and chargebacks when it inevitably becomes a no-spectator event.

I really like the Ticketek system, I'm happy they haven't changed things for a few years now. It works.

Hate that Ticketmaster have changed things for Marvel though. WTF is this $49 Level 2 upgrade they've added to the mix? Has anyone here purchased seats on Level 2?

I think some sort of refunds will be announced this week

Not if we’ve been charged the normal monthly rate like our family was yesterday. I’m not expecting anything to be returned, frankly.

While we can afford the payments, I will be annoyed if the same rules are not applied to all members where some are charged normally; and others are absolved of their obligations entirely on hardship grounds.

Provided the rule is consistent for all members, I’m happy. But I’m probably dreaming, there.

The obligation is in the AFL to provide the promised matches that our membership pays for. Hardship or not, I will expect and demand a proportional refund, which at this stage looks to be 100%. They can use it for 2021 though.

Yeah I'm planning on emailing soon to query what thoughts they have put into refunds/compensation considering its pretty obvious we won't be attending games this season. I'm sure they would have discussed it internally but the lack of communication with their members has been nothing short of appalling.

I wonder how much the waitlist plays into it. They know they don't have to be genourous with refunds because they know we will pay to wait in line.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it is still possible to see some matches, so they can't really give a full refund yet. The clubs haven't been posting out cheques either. But some communication works be nice.

The way Gill was on about the importance of membership to the clubs and the game, I'm not expecting the AFL to come forward with any sort of refund, but I can't imagine they would say no if you requested one as the clubs have agreed to. How that would affect a persons standing in regards to full membership, who knows?

But everyone would be pretty annoyed if expected to pay full amounts next season, I know Collingwood have spoken about 30% reductions for this years members if they stay on board.

An absentee member can pay a reduced rate and keep their place in the queue / keep their full membership. I'd expect a credit/refund in line with that should have no bearing on membership status.

The government has made it pretty clear we won't be getting crowds at games this year even if the season resumes. This would have had to have been discussed internally yet there has been no communication to members about options available other than "deferring" payments.
