Should we be worried about the Davey bros not nominating us yet?

I read the article saying they were leaving it up to there management

You think he wants to be a wash up at 27/28 and about 100 games with a flag or a 250 game player with as much chance as anyone else of winning a flag in the next 8 to 10 years?

Unless he's not particularly serious about a career in which case he will be found out pretty quickly.

Without being able to read his mind, why the hell not? He’ll get paid all the same but doesn’t have to do any heavy lifting, gets to cruise without pressure or expectation. It’s what I would do.

The only real rider is Dew is currently coaching him and we know he doesn’t know his arse from his face.

If he was at any other club my position on Bowes would be ‘playing twos for a reason and there’s no reason to even count on him to make it, let alone walk into the midfield of the reigning premier’.

Take it to the bank, they will be in Essendon jumpers once the draft is done

Crazy to think some pro athletes might actually back there own abilities and years of hard work and dedication to become stars and want to have success and win - and pretty much become the best footballer they can be. Moneys aweosme but some value legacy tok

And some punt everything away and leave the game with nothing, walk away to pursue something else or are Dan Gorringe.

It was an exceptionally difficult sell for us anyway, put us up against the Cats and there is only one decision anyone in their right mind would ever even consider.

when there is a 5% chance of playing in a premiership over a 1% chances of course you'd take the 5%.

If there was a team in the 4 - 8 range who could afford him would have walked straight to them I would imagine.

Not to say Setterfield can't come good. But how many players can you name that became a very good player at their 3rd club?
Stengle is one, most 3 club players currently where also good at previous clubs like Saad and Ryder

I know it was just mentioned and it’s abit of a clickbaity article to be fair considering at the end Alwyn is quoted saying “it’s life goal to pull on the red and black”
but wouldn’t it be such a exclamation mark on our cluster* of a club called Essendon if they didn’t nominate and ended up somewhere else. Wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry

Im with Zach Package here and feel that the left overs from the top few are all hugely beneficial to our future endeavours.

Sheezel could be our Robbie Gray, a more explosive Archie Perkins
Wardlaw, just a competitive complete midfielder,
Clark, a bull who competes and competes
Cadman is probably the best fit for mine as that rangy CHF

I actually wouldn't mind trying to trade 22 + maybe future second and getting two more picks inside the first 15 this year. Huge ask I know but really bullish we could pull it off.

Depends on the player and depends on the club. Him with us it doesn’t look good unless we and him change

Dodoro doesn't do them trades. He is too fixated on trying to screw another team over with a deal for a player. He bid on Silvani and Mosquito just to be a campaigner with the latter a massive fail thats cost us vecause of his ego. And he doesn't have the balls to trade a Future 1st or 2nd out for picks this year. The useless campaigner needs to get a job selling used cars to satisfy his needs.

Dodoro has in essence made that trade twice in the last 4 years to net Caldwell and Harrison Jones.

Read a book.

He traded up draft night to get Jones. Wow. So he got a player he wanted straight away. Trading a future for Pick now for just picks takes balls and also Caldwell is player he got in too, so he knew what he was getting.
If he waits till draft night he will pay a premium. Can first round picks even be traded on draft night?
