Pick 4, Pick 22, Davey, Davey, Munkara. Then we're done.

Only magic between now and the draft is ensuring our 2nd live pick comes before the Davey bid. Everything else feels comfortably locked.

So if AMT decides he wants to come back to us then we only get 4 picks in the draft?

So far we've had:

In: Setterfield, Weideman, D'Ambrosio, Menzie
Out: Smith, Francis, Cutler, Hurley, Ham, McDonagh, Brand and Walla (plus Hird as a Cat B)

Unless I've forgotten someone

Hopefully we leave ourselves room to pick up a SSP or in the midseason draft. We seem to have done better there than with late picks in the ND.
Those guys are more mature so give immediate impact but are very limited thus not taken by an AFL club for mamy years beforehand

Waterman gone
Snelling i dont think will be around for ever and might struggle this year if we get a Sheezel
Durham also his next year or 2 will be interesting aswell. Seeing him miss plenty of best 22s. (23) will help the Snelling/Durhan types though

Martin im confident weve absolutely got a gun there

Compared to players picked from the third round of the draft and later I think the strike rate has been quite good.

Nope they can stay on the rookie list for... is it 3 years eth-dog? And then you can delist and redraft them as a rookie to keep them longer than that, or you can upgrade them.
Yes

So Josh Mahoney said we would trade down our pick 4.
I hope one of these deals are being enquired about.

StKilda 9 + 2023 first
Carlton 10 + 2023 first
Geelong 7 + 2023 first

West Coast have stated they are looking to get youth through the door. But given the 2023 draft is strong in WA talent next year, I think we should offer pick 22 and our 2023 first for their picks 8 and 12.

Giving us 4 8 and 12 would be a great hand.
Wishful thinking though.

I don't believe Mahoney said 'would' trade down. That suggest it's a definite, which nothing we've seen previously has said.

8 & 12 is a fantastic draft hand for West Coast in this draft, that's right in the range for about 3 WA players. I don't see why they'd trade in to next years draft for WA players when they've got WA players right there this year.

He said we would be open to trading down.

But you have a good point with your second point.

Plus, you know, they traded pick 2 for 8 and 12 in the first place

"Nothing’s too certain yet, we’re still finalising some stuff especially with managers and Essendon itself, but I would be happy to be anywhere at this point,” Davey said. I really don’t mind where I get drafted even if it’s WA or SA. It would be a good learning scenario"

Does anyone know the ins and outs of whatever negotiations are going one between the club and ADJ management?

Not anyone that posts here, but there’s reports in the media that it relates to a contract extension which father/sons can have instead of the base contract.

Can’t imagine that it’s anything more complicated than years and dollars.
