Is anyone interested in bringing JUH over?

Davey/Menzie - Wright - Caddy
Langford - Ugle-Hagan - Gresham/Perkins

This forwardline looks a mile better to me than what we've got.

I'd also look to replacing Hind with Baker.
This is my dream spend for the dough in the chest.

If only, but you'd suspect the dogs re-sign him or drive one of the hardest ever negotiations for him

He’d command a mil + and few first round picks I’d reckon. People will read that and think BS but it will probably be his market

If a young elite key forward wants to come to your club you make it work

Too tall of a forward line there unless caddy can play mid

If he continues developing the way he has, I'd be okay with that. Top 4 finishes require star players who cost money. We have it to spend.
We also need to build.
3x 1sts for juh is a price to pay when we have so many holes in the list.

You also need him to want to come to a place that needs a build too
Bit of a catch 22.
Exactly the talent we should be trying to get, but we need the price of acquiring to attract the player

I reckon we're short a key forward and a masterful small forward, a bigger elite mid (though that may be Tsatas) and a masterful small defender who can lockdown/rebound.

Jayden Davey could be the small back.
Tsatas could be the mid.

Not sure who the small forward is, but if we landed JUH we could attract that small forward the following year or two. ..or it could be Alwyn.

I just think key forwards with talent aren't easy to come by. We should be all in to get him.

It's fine to spend that when you don't need to be hitting the draft to fill other needs, 2-3 years with no first round picks right now would be an absolute disaster. This list is not great and still needs to be turned over a bit, a gun KPF alone isn't going to make us much better.

Of course there would be other pieces at play so we wouldn't necessarily lose 3 first round picks either. If English leaves for example, they'll be looking for a ruckman. If Cox can play Ridley's role do we really need both of them? Just ideas. Not saying this is the answer definitively.

Definitely though, JUH would improve us where we're still mucking around with Harry Jones. Who knows though, maybe HJ has a great season and this conversation is meaningless by August.

I would 100% play Cox and Ridley. Intercept is king. Look at yesterday. Saints had more interceptors than genuine one on one defenders. Collingwood play a bunch of intercept defenders. So have Geelong. What McKay will give us if he plays to his best is a good one on one defender who can intercept so that is a bonus but having Reid / Cox / Ridley who can also do it would be great. Opposition does not kick goals if we are marking it via multiple players.

As far as JUH goes he would certainly make a difference . The question would be cost v reward. Are we at the stage where we go all in again and forget the draft or do we need to keep doing what we did this year and find some value B grade players and stay in the top end of the draft for another year ? Personally I am thinking the latter but as you say it will depend on who develops as we go along this year.

The alternative is manufacture the picks

Archie and cox would be worth picks somewhere in the first. Cats 1st for Archie, pick mid-late teens for cox.
McGrath is an RFA

I think 2-3 years of sharp picks in the hope we land a gun marking fwd and a game changer mid

JUH is at least a proven entity I guess. Personally I'd bank some of our assets to address needs.

Archie for cats 1st
Andy for band 1
The two should get JUH over the line considering the McGrath pick will be top 4-6.

And we keep our pick alive.

Who is into McGrath?
