Game Day AFLW 2018 Grand final

Nice and wet game to start off the Saturday!

Gutted the girls couldn't get up. Third quarter cost us dearly, as well as the failure to spot Woosh open over the top in the first quarter. A two goal lead early would have been huge considering the conditions. Woosh is still a freak though, and her two goals in the last almost got us over the line!

Shame the weather didn't allow SFT to dominate as we all know she can.

Lutkins absolutely robbed of BOG, she was CLEARLY the best player on the ground. Conti wasn't even the second best IMO, I'd say Exon had her covered. She was good in the third though, and played for the winning side. Definitely a case of "give it to a winner", which is a shame.

Sad that the girls have nothing to show for being the best side over the first two seasons, but that's the way it goes I guess. Hope they hold their heads up high and give it another crack in 2019. Third time's the charm!

It was really a 5 min lapse in the 3rd qtr in a low scoring game. Not a choke.

Conway was free. 15 metres out under no pressure 2 minutes into the third, and missed every thing. We made a few crucial mistakes that cost us big time.

And whilst history may show 2 grannies for 2 losses, we know what these girls have achieved. A big part of the tapestry of the Brisbane Lions already.

Well at least she was All Australian. We now have 6 AAs in our women’s team with Virgo and McCarthy to go with this year’s four.
Agreed, pretty surprised she didn’t get more votes. Molloy was a defender for the pies and came 2nd with 9.
