Humans as a species are on track to survive climate change.

Which has not always been the prediction.

Temperatures on Earth are unnaturally low given the makeup of our atmosphere, the distance we are to the Sun, etc. Regardless what we do, the glaciers are going to melt and the Earth will revert to it's natural equilibrium... the only factor is how quick it happens.

We are speeding the process up but mankind will one day have to adjust to live in what is the equilibrium of there not being significant glaciers, or any glaciers. We built cities where the waterline has been during an ice age and that ice age is going to end one day.

It's Clarkson's fault for creating all this hot air. :stern look

Alastair Clarkson has told Essendon he has interest in coaching the club next year

Essendon’s 11th hour bid for Alastair Clarkson has progressed, with the four-time premiership winner telling the Bombers he has interest in coaching the club.

Alastair Clarkson has told Essendon he has interest in coaching the Bombers next year, as talks are about to ramp up with the premiership coach.
It’s believed Clarkson’s manager James Henderson has told the Bombers there is strong interest from his client, who is also weighing up a five-year offer from North Melbourne. He is also being courted by GWS.

It’s not known if Clarkson’s interest will equate to him accepting a job offer from Essendon, or if it’s only the start of a bidding war between all three clubs.

Essendon’s 11th hour bid for Clarkson came after the embarrassing loss to Port Adelaide on Sunday, which also led to the resignation of Paul Brasher as president.

A boardroom split over the results of the internal review delivered to the board 10 days ago and a clear loss of confidence in coach Ben Rutten by some directors led to the day of turmoil on Monday.

A decision on Rutten’s future is not expected today and at this stage, he will be in the chair when the Bombers take on Richmond at the MCG on Saturday night.

Deadline now
Move on to plan b by end of week

*: Hey James (Henderson) do you reckon Clarko would like to coach *?
JH: Yeah sure mate.

5 weeks of talking to the club, multiple meetings, contract offer on the table. Set a deadline and move on if the answer is no. I would be very surprised if there isn't a plan B set up with a criteria, list of targets and panel. Even though we have been focussing on Clarko, that shouldn't have stopped us from planning "what do we do if he says no"

If all that is factual and not taken out of context, then I say Clarkeson's integrity is in question if he is willing to put his hand up for a coaching job that is not vacant. Very ordinary behaviour. We should give him until Friday close of business to give us an answer or we move on. Cannot be held to ransom by Clarko and if this report is correct it validates that he wants to own football clubs, lock stock and barrel. No thanks.

Time to move on I'd suggest, withdraw gracefully as apparently we have tabled an offer and Clarko and as is his right he will now decide which is the best opportunity.

We can make it easier for him, which way is the Lyon thread??
Yes, fk him now. He is clearly enjoying the circus, and this is what he will bring as coach.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt yesterday, but he could have just killed the speculation by signing, or making some kind of statement. Definitely do not want to get into a bidding war.

No big story. He clearly has had interest in all 3.
It is very telling that Clarko has been dealing with North for weeks and hasn’t committed to North.

I don’t believe it’s a coincidence in terms of what happened at Essendon yesterday and Clarko’s relationship with new President.

"It's believed"...
Nothing new to see here, just an opinion.

If that's the case I'd be moving on, and quickly. We can't wait anymore. Onwards and upwards

Not news. He said himself he has an interest in coaching all 18 clubs.

In case we hadn’t noticed, he has a strong interest in us as well, hence the last few weeks.

I expect him to do due diligence on all clubs.

So do North wait 5 weeks now while Al does his due diligence on pond scum *?
I think not, it is time to crack the whip, get the house in order, roll the stone before it gathers moss, get the cooks out of the kitchen and get the horse a bloody drink.

Then get ourselves a new coach!!

Close the thread we are done!!!
