So Tim Watson on 7news just now the voice of reason. They led with Bombers in turmoil and chasing the signature of Clarkson. Then proceeded to show Rutten and confirm he was to coach this week. Tim then stated that there was still a strong past player pull from North which was completely the opposite of the hysterical news report.
Hey mate, been following your posts closely.

How confident are you that we will still land our man. What is your latest intel?

Thanks

The same poster who gave us the WADA ooga booga gold.

If your intel is close to the Clarkson camp, how come you had no information regarding him and any connection to Essendon ? You must of known/ heard the bombers would be a more likely candidate then the giants..
Maybe they weren't.

Maybe the media ran a lie because they wanted to create clicks on their websites?

Maybe they fell for a joke that blew into a near viral mess?

This thread. Wow. Life imitating art.

Millions of years Four months ago, an alien race Cyber Punk created a supercomputer Bigfooty thread named Deep Thought ‘Alastair Clarksons’, which was given the single purpose of figuring out the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. At the end of its seven-and-a-half-million-year program posts, Deep Thought Bigfooty reveals that the answer is “forty-two. buy a rice cooker”.

This afternoon I have received multiple messages confirming that everything is going to plan from Norths end. It appears a favorable decision is imminent this week. I have no reason to disregard what I’ve been told.

It would be nice if the Coaches Association made some effort to protect one of their members - unionism ain't what it used to be

Love Robbo's BS about * supporters saying "about bloody time this club was tough enough to make hard decisions" when the most fundamental decision in getting a new coach - removing the old one first - has evaded them. Actually, what hard decisions has * made in the last 36 hours?

Question: which bear is best?

considering clarkson is still being paid by hawthorn i highly doubt an announcement can be made until the end of the season.
Not necessarily. we could have signed him up already, but not officially starting until a few months time at the end of his Hawks tenure. Happens all the time in the corporate world where I work. That way we've secured him and he's off the market.

i suspect this is all the media milking the story for all it's worth. big club board spill, clarkson to north announcement hasn't been made, why not get a few thousand clicks from the essendon nuffies? it's easy stories for the whole week; monday: essendon board spill, tuesday: story about north losing big fish, wednesday: clarkson has met with essendon, announcement in the coming days, thursday: understood north has up the offer and gone all in!, friday: clarkson leaning towards north, weekend: run with whatever story suits depending on foot results, Monday: north announces clarko.

the media can go from "he's definitely going to north" to "definitely going to essendon" to "definitely going to north" and when it's announced he's going to north (which was probably sown up last week) the media look like they were in the know the whole time when it was all just BS to get clicks.
Yes the media is fickle, but in this instance I reckon there is more substance to the Clarko to Essendon movement. But I've been wrong before.

philreich Port is stuck with Hinkley. North is your calling.
I wouldn't be so sure about that - Ken is currently about as popular at Alberton as a Crows scarf. If he thought 1 SACK HINKLEY sign recently was bad, he won't be happy with seeing them all around the oval on Saturday night :).

I note this quote from The Age.

The Kangaroos have made landing Clarkson their No.1 priority. President Sonja Hood has dealt with the coach and his management exclusively on behalf of North Melbourne to lure him to the club he played for between 1987-1995.

If * win this battle then the media will come for Sonja. One of my contacts has again just sent me a one word message. Relax. Hope he is right. Media seem hell bent on talking Clarko to *. They can all go get fugged.

The much more likely theory is that Hawthorn have a deed of settlement with Clarkson that prevents him taking a role with another club during the 2022 season - Jeff Kennett is a d!ckhead, but he's not a dill, and Hawthorn aren't going to allow Clarkson to sign on for someone else while he is taking Hawthorn's money (which we know is being paid in instalments). The season ends for North this weekend, and that's when Clarkson can sign and still satisfy the requirements of any settlement deed with Hawthorn.
Unless it's explicitly written in Clarko's contract with Hawthorn, there would be nothing stopping Clarko from signing an employment contract elsewhere. He just can't legally commence working until the end of his tenure with Hawthorn as per his contract with them.

Apropos of nothing except yesterday’s news, I find Tony Jones unbearable.
Didn’t that muppet do our bnf one year

Unless there’s a huge money discrepancy… which the AFL could make happen if they wanted to, find some bullshit ambassador thing… there isn’t a coach alive, including Clarkson, who would choose North over Essendon right now.

WADA Oooga Booga In Over The Top.

Hope you’re taking names
