I’m going to speculate here. In regards to hawthorn telling a player to cease contact with individuals…But I reckon it wouldn’t be the first time an afl player has been told to cut bad influences out of their life if they plan on making it in the big time…
Look at what Hardwick did with Sidney Stack. Oh shit, Hardwick going to be lynched too?

Yes, but the allegations in at least two of these stories go much further than that.

I guess this is where these allegations are delving into the grey area.

The allegation is that the individuals were forced into the action, which makes it very serious. There is also the possibility that the individual was advised to cut ties with an individual for the betterment of their career. The whole bit of whether the player was forced to take action or was merely given advice is where it could get really murky.

The sad part of this whole situation is that regardless of any outcome we now have the possibility of a fractured relationship with players and coach.

Well, I did once have lunch with a former player turned player manager and he indicated one of the tough situations a player manager faces is clients who have to be put on a budget (and who never have any money) due to the entourage of people with their hand out.

Again, if a player with a poor education spoke to the club that there girlfriend was pregnant, it’s the club welfare officers job to guide them through the process and what options are available. If they pushed them in a direction, then we have a problem

There are players currently on our list that have been told this.

I get what you are saying but people can change, not sure if you have heard of restorative justice (Restorative justice - Wikipedia) but it's essentially as listed in the Wiki link.

Restorative justice, or at least what it takes for someone to enter into this practice, is a positive environment and acceptance of your past actions, in this case I'm suggesting Clarko's new workplace provides that sort of environment.

The important part is it's not dismissing what has happened, but having the person who committed the offence to put things in place to fix it with those they have wronged.

If the abortion allegations are proven correct, I think it goes beyond changing. He’s done. And he should be.

Mate where did you go to school? A blokes education is not linked to his fertility 🙄

There goes the right to anonymity of the accusers.

Clarkson has a right (and a legal one at that) to face his accusers and their accusations given the seriousness of them.

The ABC journo is a good one, but by god he better have done his due diligence regarding the sources.

He followed up with a tweet asking the media to respect the players anonymity for their mental health, but that is way beyond that now.

I’ve got some real issues with the journo running it without comment from any of Clarkson, Fagan, Hawthorn etc. It seems they might have been told the night before as an almost ultimatum.
It's the ABC way of reporting.

Don't let the truth get in the way of a sensationalized story

There can be issues amongst some Aboriginal communities called “Humbugging” in relation to finances.

For the record - I have no idea if that’s been a factor in these cases.

Even if their is 'smoke' I doubt a review will uncover anything more than a 'he said, she said' situation which therefore uncovers nothing.

It will then be up to every individual to decide who to believe and who is credible, which is hard with one party remaining anonymous.

This puts the Club in a tough position, back in Clarko or not.

AFL are experts at sweeping things under the rug... they tried to sweep the Essendon thing under the rug, their hubris at not accepting a slap on the wrist resulted in harsher penalties.

If it is humanly possible, the AFL will do everything possible to save the brand. They will be pretty dirty that they only found about this a week ago. It didn't really buy them any time to buy off everyone involved.

Bit late,
Should’ve been done part of the due diligence months ago.
She can’t grill somebody on something she knows nothing about; the Cyril Rioli story from April was the only thing I’m aware of related to this issue, and Cyril took aim principally at Kennett

******* absolutely smashed by people on here too. I am appalled by some people on here lynching people without any evidence
People on this board...no never. Just had to read the covid threads to see some members on here share similarities to those from colonial Massachusetts. I'll give some the benefit of the doubt because it's emotional but saying you'll stop supporting North if it backs Clarkson (with only today's report) seems a little knee-jerkish.

The coverup is in full swing from the AFL
I laughed when former Hawthorn president, AFL Commission and "independent" were used in the same sentence.

However, it isn't really clear if he is part of the investigation or to be called as a "I know nothing" witness.

The lynching is worse than that. The bloke has coached hundreds of players… where has any player EVER, once in their ****ing life, this guy? When? Not ****ing once until now
