Mate I applaud those who always try and see the lighter side of things but we lost a game of footy to a bunch of basket cases 48 hours ago. The body is still warm.
There may be upside, but right now the club is embarrassed, ashamed and at its lowest ebb. Lets not hold eachothers dicks just yet and start singing ring-a-ring-a-rosie. People are angry and have every right to be.

Touk Miller does not like this.

Can you remember the good old shinboner days when after a loss like we had on the weekend against West Coke, we supporters could almost be 100% confident that we'd come out against Melbourne this weekend and give them merry hell?

Opposition teams would genuinely fear facing this scenario.

Those were the days...

RIP Shinboner spirit

I used to be so angry that wed be a reactive football club and that it would take an ambush in Adelaide or a loss to a GC/Brisbane to wake the side up.

These days? Theres not even a pulse

I would share the same sentiment... but gee, it's a hell of a lot better than what we have now.

Round 15, 2014. Our embarrassing loss to Brisbane.

Petrie gets criticised for not taking the shot for goal in the dying seconds. Boomer's spot is questioned, players commitment is questioned... we cop a hiding in the media.

Guess who we had next? Hawthorn on a Friday night. Petrie absolutely destroys Lake, Boomer goes on a rampage, Hansen is a rock down back, we completely open up Hawthorn in the 3rd, we bully them all night, and then finish off convincing winners.

‘Although the wins haven’t been forthcoming, we’ve taken steps forward in a number of areas.’

Well, they’re certainly not areas that will be leading to wins anytime soon. Someone posted previously that the club believes there are KPI’s that we’ve improved on. Seems like they’re created to justify rhetoric.

The lack of system, both offensively and defensively, is glaring.

Dude, just because you aren't able to see the system at either end doesn't mean it's not there. Clearly, it's not working properly yet but the system is forming. Inevitably, we will win a game and then another, and another, and people like yourself might say, "Finally, they introduced a system where previously there was none." In reality, the system was there all along, just off-kilter, poorly placed, or with a weak link.

Does the system involve kicking to contests at the exclusion of all other options?

Allowing uncontested marks all the way up field?

Going 20 minute periods without scoring?

If you’ll allow me to rephrase, what I should’ve said is that there is no workable system, whether that be through instruction or lack of ability.

The whole place is rancid and it shows on field every week.

We seem to be handling our own in contests and clearances quite well - stacked up to top teams. It’s after that where it looks like we have no ****ing idea

That happens cos skill error turnovers **** with our confidence. There's all these horrible feedback loops at the moment.
