While winning would be great, for this season l would have thought getting to know if players are up to playing at Afl level would be the priority. Players like Dawson and Drury should be getting more Afl game time so that a decision is made on whether they stay or go.

I’d be keeping Drury for another year has done enough in a debut year for a 18/19 year old

Dawson a 25 year old who has been here for 2 years is likely gone tho and we know enough

I think that decision has been made.

We might know enough but has Clarko ever seen him play on a constant basis and hopefully will not go on others here say...

Doesn’t need too. He wants to make a list worthy of lifting up a premiership cup. That does not include the likes of Dawson. HOWEVER depending on what happens during trade period he may get a 1 year extension.

"Right you guys, since your fitness isn't up to scratch, we'll be playing in the A-League over summer."
I’d be okay with that, Melbourne City would have us easily covered for the lowest crowds, one less thing for the media to bang on about.

Did we ever hear from the assistant coach who was going to back it all up again?

Russian Mafia dude?

Odds Lucky Phil just invented him whole cloth to try and make his grubby little shakedown seem a bit weightier?

He also mentioned that the AFL compensate clubs for equalisation through picks. This what happened to Melbourne and we deserve our lick of the ice cream now. I’m hoping we get Sanders, pick 3 for that spud McKay and around mid first round pp.
To have Sanders, 2,3,11 15 and maybe pick 5 from GC would be the REAL start of our rebuild.

I strongly believe that he needs to lead some sort of catharsis event away from the football club through the upcoming preseason.

At Hawthorn they did Kokoda, early days with Brad we went to Utah. Even when we had nothing, Laids ran a military style bootcamp thing in a preseason to enshrine in the players a desire to overcome adversity.

As a collective I think that we need some sort of psychological circuit breaker. Something that can combine team bonding with something that pushes them physically and mentally and makes them collectively more reliant upon each other. Something that is more than running, weights, game sense stuff. Something that challenges who they are are what they are doing.

A collective colonic for the club to rid itself of the utter shit that it has been over the last 6 years. Something to drive a stake into the ground that says the North Melbourne of the future will not be defined by anything from; Brad Scott's failings, by unceremoniously delisting champions, by hub breakdowns or high end talent running away, by losing steaks, or by wooden f***ing spoons.

However it will be defined by a dedication to doing the things the victory demands.

Good idea. A collective colonic takes team bonding to another level.

The getaway can conclude with burning effigies of Scotts & Nobles.

Didn't they go to Philip island or some embarrassing BS last year? IIRC there was a scavenger hunt or something?!

Agree, Hong Kong Oxfam trail walker be a good one to do usually in November.....split up in groups of 4, make it competitive and pick our best runners to try to set the best overall time. Set them the task of beating the chinese army entrants. I've done it a couple of times, very hilly, and as much a mental test as physical.
