Libs never said we won't get funding. They didn't bother to comment on it because it was either a Labor or SA-Worst seat. No point.

It will go ahead, just means it might take a little longer.

Um, Rob Lucas said they wouldn't be giving us money, primarily because he's a campaigner.

Lucas hates PAFC, he is a total ******.

Labor made a massive error publically making Alberton / PAFC a political issue, you just dont do that in a city like Adelaide

Marshall may well be a Port man but most with the power in Libs are Crows. Marshall is just the front man.

The Libs will check the books find out the ALP has been cooking them and lots of funding projects will get the arse.

How big of a goose is Simon Birmingham? My dad said so based on a couple of personal experiences with the bloke, but I’d never heard a word from him until switching on the ABC tonight.

He’s got the vocal mannerisms of Pyne and the “entitlement ears” of Prince Charles. At least he seems to have more brains than Cori ;)

“Billion dollar” Bignell on the other hand, bragging about the second half of a highway and a skate park with mild pub drunks going off in the background... and doing the whole “top pub, middle pub, bottom pub” thing... almost had an attack of cringstalgia listening to that.

Will be interesting to see if the change of gov brings more of the SANFL and Crow troglodytes out of the apricot-coloured fallout shelters. Olsen and Lucas go all the way back.

Needs a cross-post to China thread. The less dependent we are on the vague goodwill of state government the better.

If the Libs get in now I'm sure they'll be out again next election. Hopefully not too much damage has been done in the meantime.

They didn’t bother to comment because that was the smart move when upper house seats are still in play. Every vote counts there, even if the lower house result is a given. Lucas won’t give us money, end of story. Goes all the way back with Olsen.

My own well announced biases parked, I hope an inexperienced new sagov team don’t screw up the relationships with Musk and the OneSteeel Whyalla dude (whose name I can’t recall).

SA gov is now quite opposed to their Fed big brother in many key areas.

Does this mean there’ll be more one way Highways constructed?

Unfortunately that is seeming pretty close to the mark.

And sell what's left of the state's assets (then blame Labor when the owners jack prices up).

I'm shattered Rob Lucas won't be bringing up 30 - thirty - years in opposition.

I think it will happen too although S Marshall does seem to lack vision.

lol We've thrown the Aboriginal centre in there purely to try and entice the government to pay for the entire thing, I think you'll find that he will agree to pay for the political hot potato part but tell us to get our own private funding for the rest which is fair enough. As I said at the start, it was all pie in the sky last weekend and it still is and it will forever be if the sole source of funding in the plan was government. There's plenty of avenues to get the cash but we'll have to maybe take on a lot of risk considering our current debt so I'm not that keen on the club doing it if that's the case.

You never know though, 12 months before the next election I think is a good chance if things are looking 50/50 that the cash suddenly gets committed quickly so building is happening for the 2021 election.

I think it will end up going ahead regardless of the government. Besides, we shouldn't be entitled to it.

Did PAFC/Koch say how much the project would cost in total, how much PAFC were financing and how much SA Labor and the Feds were funding when they made the announcement?

Most parties get in and say the books were cooked, or much worse than stated, and use the opportunity to reneg on their spending promises, let alone the prior incumbents plans.
Which is virtually what I said to our local Liberal candidate, who I think got in, when she came door knocking some months back.

She said to me ‘we’re the only party with a strategic plan”. My response was “and if you get in that will change very quickly, so it’s not worth much right now”.

I have worked fairly closely with Miniaters from both sides of politics, and whilst I have more leanings towards labor, the best one was the former Liberal A-G Trevor Griffin.

Something like 8m from state, 4mill from feds.

Rest TBA. Total cost like 34mill or something from memory.
