This feels generous from the Crows. Unusual to see a deal done so quickly that's generous like this.

Good post on the Adelaide board about similar deals.

they actually do. in many cases. when a player puts on 10kg of muscle, you think that's going to be advantageous to their running?

You must surely be shocked every previous when half of the draftees smash the vets in the time trials. Come on now.

Throw in Ollie Hollands, Reuben Ginbey, I could go on and on.

You’ve managed to find only three instances over a 5 year period. Wouldn’t say that that thats “half the draftees smashing the vets’. It actually shows the opposite of what you’re saying.

And even then it doesn’t prove your point as those guys could improve on that time trail throughout their career at some point.

I’d take ANB over all of those except for maybe Tom Mitchell. I bet none of those finished top 3 in the best and fairest the year they were traded

Happy with the pick up. Seems overs to me but if it was say pick 35 then I'd say fair deal and is 7 picks really that much difference, no it isn't.

Overs?
  • premiership play
  • finished 3rd in this years BnF
  • four top 10 BnF finishes in a row
  • Oozes leadership which we lack on-field
  • ultra consistent which many of our players are not consistent

Calling it overs is purely due to the fact he’ll be 29 at the start of next season. If he was 26, entirely different story.

The post above of similar aged players traded was a good comparison. Not doubting he’s a good pickup.

I like ANB and sad that he has left. I wish him all the best with the Crows.

I think his value is for a pick in the 35-45 range, which is where pick 28 will likely land after the compo/fs/academy picks are sorted.

The Crows are really putting together a hell of a offseason so far with their acquisitions. I would have loved to have landed Peatling or Cumming and you got both! Kudos!
