happy that some of our boys are finally being recognised

clearly hate the tigers- reckon daniel jackson and deledio stiff- cotchin has been a bit off.

andrew mackie?? has he been that good this year or is it reward fro consistency?

Douglas a laugh

Good to see Goldstein get recognised

Wells- already been said

You obviously havent watched him this year. He's been brilliant and will win our B&F IMO.
The laughs are Hodge, Franklin and Mackie
Should be replaced by Hanley, Martin and Libber

Popularity contest.

Leuenberger, Rockliff and Hanley would all be in if they were at Melbourne clubs.

Richmond players stiff to miss out as well.

No, Hanley would, but Leuey nowhere near Goldstein or Minson this year, and really Rockliff was too inconsistant. Martin was better than Rockliff and didnt get in either.

It isn't out of the realms of possibility that Hodge will not only make the team but in fact be captain. Selwood or Ablett the most likely but Hodge has been leading brilliantly this year.

If this happens I will take no notice of any future AA selections because its clearly a farce.
Hodge didnt deserve to be in the 40, definitely not captain of anything.

So North have 4 out of the 40 best performed players in the league.
They used less players than any other team.
So you'd think that would have impacted their results.
They won less than half their games. Weird.
Stop it, bringing common sense into the equation. Cast you out!:p

And I can now not bother with any of your posts. Obviously have no idea.

Not really worried about the Richmond snubs. Martin I thought had an ok year, you could make a case for him making the squad but not really bothered he didn't. Morris probably could have got a look in as a back pocket but predictably the selectors like half back flankers that get the ball alot.

The one thing that annoys me is leaving Rance out, thought he was a massive shout as CHB but doesn't even make the squad. Really disappointed with that.
im a tiger supporter as well but imo we vastly over rate rance.
will be interesting to get the stats on goals kicked by direct opponent again. id say chaplin was far more effective and had a better yr as far as stopping an opponent goes.

the difference between rance and say mackenzie is vast.

All we hear from opps supporters is that Franklin is a glorified HFF anyway. In which case he's clearly the best performed one in the AFL and I'll assume no one will have a problem if he gets a HFF in the AA team...........
gotta agree buddy should be looked at as a forward first and foremost rather than pidgeonhole him as a kpp.
he is by far the best performed flanker across the season.he also holds down a kp post which makes him invaluable.. by playing him as a flanker you lose nothing pace agility tackling goals he has the lot.

hmm i change my mind and place him at hff in my team.

It's amusing that you just asked if someone else watches football.

Hodge finished just outside the Top 10 of the AFLCA votes. What would they know though, hey?

What position are you going to paly him in out of interest?

Also, why just me? Plenty of other posters have questioned Hodge's spot in the side.
Also, the guys at AFL Insider were bemused at his selection also (even due to their bias towards him for being a top bloke). What would they know, hey?

Lindsay Thomas is the selection apart from Franklin and Mitchell that gobsmacked me!!

I would have Harvey ahead of Thomas and how many games did he play??
Thomas, as the leading small forward scorer in the comp, was always going to make the squad.

Only a moron would think otherwise.

Thank f**k a smart Richmond supporter came to the party.
Chaplin is the major reason for your vastly improved defence. Rance might put up the numbers but Chaplin is the one doing the jobs if you ask me. Neither are worthy of all-australian mind you.

So McKenzie gets in after West Coast's defence conceded 65 more goals than Richmond's. Was McKenzie that good, and Glass that poor?

All-australian is not picked on team statistics funnily enough.
McKenzie had a brilliant year, Glass is past it and no longer playing on the best forward.
Richmonds team defense was brilliant (Rance, Chaplin, Morris etc), but none individually were close to the AA squad IMO.

Very easy to pick and choose games.
What happened in the others?
Morris had a great year dont get me wrong, but he was never in AA contention.

Also some of those stats are somewhat bemusing. I mean letting Eddie Betts get 9 disposals in 60 odd minutes means that for a whole game he'd get 18 which would be above his average? The Walters one is even more skewed...this is bad journalism

Only conceded 17 goals all year.

Rance and Morris should've been in the squad at least

I have no hate for Richmond. Theyve always been my 2nd favourite team.
I think the only one that could consider themselves unlucky is Martin.
Team defense doesnt earn AA spots.

Least our team is good across the board and will only improve next year.

McBean to debut his talent and Knights to come back and a few youngsters to fill spots like McDonough.
Astbury should improve as well.Dea another one.Helbig.

Plenty to look forward too.
