Out of all the Collingwood players you put on the "unlucky" list, Ben Johnson is the one to make it?

Heath Shaw and Anthony Rocca are probably looming as our two best chances, and they didn't even make your "unlucky" list...

Whitnall on the bench over Pavlich.....

Pavlich and Grover are the only two dockers who are close, maybe Carr. No-one notices Grover over east he is a very very good defender. I noticed you named Carr. Obviously of the Josh variety. He must be close aif opposition supporters are naming him.

I dont think Chapman or Hodge have been in great form this season, but i think Antoni Grover and Cousins would definetly be in contention.

I've noticed him, he's good. Bit of a nutter, but a very good FB imo.

Thats the thing he's not a FB. When Haddrill returns 2-3 weeks. Probably after the break. Grover can play as the third tall, his rebound and marking as the third man will see him go up the ranks in the second half of the year.

Carroll may be a surprise backline inclusion if he continues to beat the best forwards in the competition every week.

Hasn't had a bag kicked on him all year... although no doubt it's coming this week :(

uh forgetting Leo Barry?
he continues on current form he will get FB or BP np's, and he won't be on the bench either.

Please tell me you are joking....

Scarlett should be the FB

I think Scarlet would be very close for fullback with Michael not far behind. Has Rutten been going OK?

For the bench ruck position I think Charman should get a look in ahead of Lade.

This happens every year. Some absolute hack plays okay and people try to talk them up as All-Australians

All-Australian selection is not just about a player's form over the season.
It is also to recognise the BEST 22 footballers in the country.
This is the balancing act that the selectors have to exercise each year.

Players like Carroll (and Ben Johnson, in my opinion) should not even make the shortlist of 50.

And your absolutely correct about that, its the only season out of their careers so far at AFL level that have been respectable, the rest half-assed and craptastic.

I would be suprised if more than 1 collingwood player made the AA team, but at least 3 WCE players should, and at least 2-3 Sydney players, and probably half of Adelaide :p

Brad Johnson has had a very quite month before this week, not deserving of his spot. tyson edwards has been playing well too, less disposals than goodwin yes, but more effective with his, yes.

J. Farmer - best forward pocket in the country.

If he wasn't such a prick he'd be in everyone's AA side.

brainless .. go look it up in the dictionary. i think you'll find the pictures of the 35,000ish freo members... lol, jeff farmer.. what a farce.

Good to see Darren Glass get some recognicition. Cousins and Kerr must be close...

tru for DG.. but why do so many peopl wlasy say that benny and kerr must be close,, that means youd have judd, kerr and benny in the midfield of an AA team, never happen.. you'll never see all 3 of them,, granted all great players, but they arent the only midfielders in the game

Cousins and Kerr, while very close, probably haven't done enough over the course of the season to get in.

People may well ridicule me when I say this but I would say that Nicoski is very close to a spot on the HBF in an AA team if he keeps up his form.

Good call on Glass btw form FB in the comp ATM, although B. Harris is very stiff.

Its quite incredible how Luke Hodge can play back flank, yet lead the league in centre bounce clearances and is only behind Sam Mitchell in clearances as a whole. He really is that good hey?

My point exactly.

He made 8 tackles on Saturday night. Most forward pockets wouldn't make that many all year.

If there wasn't such a vicious hatred of him by most other footy fans he'd be a shoe in.

1 more goal than Aaron Davey and 2 less tackles. Even though he's played 2 less games through injury.

But the forward pocket position in AA isn't being used for traditional forward pockets. Its midfielders come forward pockets or shortish FF's. ALA Mark Williams and Roo.
