Luke Parker is not a forward pocket

So your suggestion is Parker (or many other mids) in this modern era of less interchanges doesn't spend time forward?

It makes perfect sense to me that you pick your best 5 mids and then have an extra one or two sitting forward resting ready to spell the starters.

Wait, wait...Parker's last two weeks have been putrid? Check Mitchell's past month:

R5 v Adelaide: 31 disposals, only 7 contested, went at a mere 67% efficiency including 7 clangers.
R6 v GWS: 26 disposals, ZERO tackles, 7 contested, going at only 65%.
R7 v Richmond: Did not show up
R8 v Freo: 26 disposals, better at 80% but 5 clangers and 5 frees against.
saying 5 frees against and 5 clangers is pretty redundant.

Seems teams have started tagging him and it is working. Mitchell is well behind Parker probably about 15 mids in between the pair as well, Mitchell dominated the saints and smashed WCE the rest he's been meh and those contested numbers are terrible.

Why can't you admit shuey is better? He has better disposal, gets more of it, more clearances, tackles, Goal assists and less clangers.

Why can't you admit Goldy is better than NicNat? He has better disposal, gets more of it, more marks, more tackles, more effective disposals, more goals and less clangers.

I believe they are very even however Naitanui is a far better tap ruckman and everything apart from goals is very close anyway, and naitanuis extra clearances, CP's and GA's balances it out.

He already had zorko and motlop in the side at HFF mid/fwds,
My statement is Luke Parker is not a forward pocket he has 7 goals for the season, 3 of them against Brisbane.
Why even bother having forwards or back men lets just put all the 30 possession players that kick less then a goal a game in there.

But Naitanui has more clearances, more contested possessions, more i50s and more contested marks of far this year.
The only relevant stat you've mentioned is goals.

So Ziebells extra marks, goals, contested possies, contested marks, rebound from 50 and 1% balances out whatever Shuey leads in.

Or does that only work when trying to match Nic Nat with Goldy?

From 28 touches at home to 22 away. Shuey goes 1 way and only when easy - and when getting beaten is like Thomas searching for cheap frees.

Just ignore him, he's a grade A troll.

My examples were important for ruckman, I'll pay the contested possessions and goals but even then it is minimal in both categories.

I've already admitted that godly and Naitanui is very close and in fact I don't who I would pick in the AA team if Gawn wasn't an option.

Ziebell averages 85 SC points in games under 30 points difference compared to 110 in games over 30 points. He is a lot more flat track than shuey.

Clubs don't pick 6 lines of 3 anymore

So simply pigeon holing blokes is folly

The lineup on the ground is simply a visual representation - but they spend half the game elsewhere

SuperCoach points is a much better statistical indicator than just disposals, shirts best game came when he had 22 disposals. Also it shows that ziebell doesn't step up when needed much like the PF last year did. I expect ziebell to go missing against the four best teams in WCE, Hawks, Geelong and Sydney.

Where did you see that?

Goldy had 22 touches 35 hitouts and got 3 votes
Nic Nat had 12 touches and 33 hitouts and got 4 votes.

Who needs to just show up to get votes??

Naitanui's taps to advantage were the reason we kicked 9 goals in the first quarter, his impact was immense, but keep pretending the hitout and disposal counts tell the whole story.

116 ChampionData ranking points for Nic Nat vs. 105 for Goldy this week.

Nic Nat does more from less stats.

I just find it great that Nic Nat getting less touches is a non factor v Goldy but JZ getting less than Shuey is massive.

Eagle supporters hey!!

I never said that, however they play different positions and for a midfielder posessions are probably the second most important stat after effective disposals which funnily enough shuey has a massive 5 more.

Shuey had 11 touches in the prelim!!

Over the season nic and goldy have averaged roughly the same amount of disposals, whereas shuey has averaged 3 or 4 more while having almost 15 percent higher disposal efficiency, despite both players having a similar ratio of contested to uncontested possessions. Not to mention nics taps to advantage are that much better than anyone elses that it's not funny.
