Stats mean sweet f.a. when picking these teams.

There are 20-30 midfielders who average 23-26 possessions per game.

Whoopty-doo...

It never ceases to amaze me how many people judge a footballer by how many times he gets the ball.
The West Coast Eagles are HANDBALLING the the footy about 200 times per game.
EVERY teams on-ball group of players average 23-26 possessions per game.

Is there a more useless stat than total number of possessions?

Not a bad team that one. As much as I hate to say it, I wouldn't have Steve Johnson. He's been terrific since his return, but he still missed the first 5 games. Tough one.

Couldn't agree more, it's the quality of the disposssal, not the amount that counts.:thumbsu:

Good team but swap Riewoldt and Pavlich and Brad Johnson with Steve Johnson.

Also I would include Ling in place of Sam Mitchell.

My team this week:

FB S.Fisher M.Scarlett H.Shaw
HB J.Adcock M.Egan R.Hayden
C B.Harvey J.Bartel S.Black
R H.Mcintosh C.Cornes G.Ablett
HF B.Johnson M.Pavlich N.Riewoldt
FF S.Johnson J.Brown B.Ebert

Inter: D.Cox C.Ling D.Kerr S.Mitchell

Who in their right mind would rather have Ling than Mitchell?

I mean, really... This is supposed to be about picking the BEST team of 2007.

Ling has been good this season. If we were picking the All Australian B team, he might get in.
He'd almost be the captain of the All Australian C team.

But come on guys, this is supposed to be the best 22.

Imagine you're picking a team to represent Australia at an imaginary footy World Cup.

Exactly the reason I would pick Ling. I think he has had a better year then Mitchell. My opinion being unbiased unlike your opinion.

Re: Nominate your possible AA's from your team..

I doubt we will have any as there are definatley no other that you havn't named and apart from maybe Malceski there have been better players in each of the other positions than Kirk & Bolton.

Aree mate, but its "possible" ie. taken into consideration.
