What's with the extremely short ramp?

Interesting that the FTW Title is now retired. With the International Title and Continental Titles being other 3rd tier titles, it's probably a good decision.

Tag Title match probs the match of the night.

MVP joins AEW, trying to be Swerves heel manager and kick Prince Nana to the curb?

Mox wins Darby's World Title shot. Made sense storyline wise, but hope Darby can get another shot down the line.

wtf is going on with tickets. Just over half that they had for last years Grand Slam. Good TV doesn’t translate to ticket sales and ratings.

I’m really liking this card though.
I wouldn’t have a clue about the ticket numbers but is it more it’s good TV as in good matches but lacking in compelling storytelling across the board?

Stories have always sold tickets over quality matches maybe it’s a case of not enough emotional investment in the current storylines for the casual fans or the fans on the fence of willing to put their hard earned up to watch it?

If Willow is going to be Mariah's next challenger, shouldn't she have been Stat at All Out? I'm not sure AEW really wants to go down the path of wins and losses not mattering.

The tag match was excellent, but I'm not sure why Danielson vs McGuiness happened now. It wasn't even confirmed before the show. It could've been such a better build, it could've been/felt like such a more epic match.

They just burnt one of the most anticipated matches the company has, and everything about it was underwhelming. Makes me wonder if Danielson isn't long for the title, and that's just a match that they wanted to happen while they had the chance.

It was good to see Nigel in the ring but I really don’t think many besides ROH diehards thought the feud was PPV worthy. Good to get it done now on to bigger and better things for BD.

If he really does need the neck surgery, then it makes sense to burn through it.

she should be paying them...

True, and it also feels like wrestling is cooling down.

I haven't been paying close attention to WWE numbers but it feels like they're not what they were 18 months ago either.

If they chose to move it “to a more intimate venue” in Qld, what are their options (say capacity roughly 15k)?

If they've only sold 10k they could fit us in the Entertainment Centre at the moment.

I don't really have any feel on what the likely outcome here is - whether it's an empty stadium, moving the show somewhere else in Brisbane, or cutting the deal with Qld and going to Sydney or Melbourne. You're so limited in what you can do when 10k people have already bought tickets and a lot of them are coming from interstate.

I guess it depends what metrics you're using, since their arena shows (RAW/SD) are selling out?

AEW picked the wrong city. Brisbane just doesnt have the population density for a niche sport like Wrestling. Especially for a stadium show. Should of gone Melbourne or Sydney.

I actually think they should pivot for Brisbane Entertainment Centre and introduce 2 new dates, Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena) and Sydney (Qudos Bank Arena) and do an Australian tour instead of one show. Three nights back to back to back. They can make money with that arrangement.

I don't think WWE has dropped or slowed down at all, they keep selling out TV and PLE's, I think the smartest thing has been taking PLE's to other countries but the difference to AEW is they have the 50 plus year name that people know and whenever you mention wrestling most people ( casuals or in general) say WWF. Right now though if your a fan of all wrestling its bloody hard to keep up, you have what 5 shows between AEW/WWE/NXT, then there is TNA and others, 2-3
PLE/PPV per month.

The Brisbane show would be fantastic but man the logistics and expense of anyone else outside of Aus travelling for the show make it really hard. They were never going to get WWE type numbers just because like I said the name of the company and more so the fact it would be a lot of kids dragging parents along whereas the AEW product is totally different.

You know how many people 40,000 is, right?

And this is still a company that the random man in the street hasn't heard of.
I've always thought anyone thinking we'd get a Wembley sized number here was kidding themselves.

20,000 still feels likely and that should be close to profitable, if they can pick up local production and keep the touring party to manageable size.

And if not, Tony wouldn't feel it.
