Embarrassing
The disappointing thing is I have no doubt this will put off AEW touring Australia again. They could of got good crowds in Melbourne, Perth and probably Sydney.

But they choose Brisbane.

It could be a WCW situation. I believe they toured Australia in 2000 and never came back.

Also I read a news report today that Grand Slam Australia wont be a ppv due to time difference. It will just be a HBO Max streaming event that is free to those in US with the subscription.

Hopefully ESPN Australia will also show the event.

If they can’t fill the entertainment centre whoever did the market research needs to be fired.

Hate that, people that want to go do the right thing and pay up early only for people to come last minute at discounted rates and potentially get better seats.
Yep this type of thing has always shit me. Especially with todays tech, there is the ability to refund everyone the difference and lower all prices. Same shit happens with footy memberships and their SEN days

It's the standard business model. AEW and WWE do it for every show. Start ticket prices high so the people who want the best seats pay up. Lower the price late to fill the remaining seats. Yes, those who wait get a cheaper ticket, but they take the risk of missing out and generally a filling lesser quality seats.

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen elsewhere on other events just saying hate it either way for anything.

Unless you’re paying for the VIP you’re almost better off waiting. Imagine paying 30 bucks or more for a ticket in one row ahead

Not just wrestling companies ...

Weren't they here in September/October of 2000?

I don't know that we can blame WCW's failure to return on Brisbane.

And the shows did really well. RLA was near full for Thunder (I was there). All tour the crowds were two to three times what they'd been doing in the US at that time.

I think it's going to be at least 10k, I think they would've cancelled if it were less than that. And if it were under 6k there were smaller venues.

You can go and check, and there are fewer than 1000 seats currently available... but there's no real way to know whether every available seat has gone on sale. I doubt they'd be doing a sale if there were fewer than 1000 left. And while sections of the upper tier only have every 2nd row on sale - the "order" of which would ordinarily suggest that they haven't put every row on sale - it's impossible to know with the relocation, it's entirely possible that's how they set it up to ensure some decent seats were remaining?

The map I saw of the venue last week only included the floor and the lower tier, but there's nothing left other than deep in the corners.

Think time of year and location hurt the sales imo. A lot is on this time of year and people have probably already spent heavily in the period prior.

Personally i would have liked to go but just have too much other things and trips on.

Suncorp was always too ambitious.

That's not the reality of what's available on the seating map though.

You absolutely would not have been better off waiting.
Yeah, that's not reality. Everyone screams when there's last minute discounting - but it's always the promoter trying to get people into lower quality seats.
If I’ve bought in one of the isles in front or behind and paid $30 more for it I’d be annoyed and that’s what I am saying would have been better off for people in those positions to wait and hold off.

I know it happens everywhere just pisses me off that people that book ahead and end up with a seat in similar position a worse off in their pocket. Same with football and any other events.

I think 10k will be a great crowd.
