The day the likes of Claudio and OC ever become champs in this company is the day its dead to me for good.

I hope MJF actually jumps ship now that WWE is no longer PG.
Claudio is a best and would be a perfect world champion, would have been a perfect WWE champion to. They had the easy route of arrogant European who could speak 5 languages. It staggers me that they gave the likes of Del Rio, Khali , Jinder for example title reigns yet not Cesaro who was far better in the ring and not as bad as you think promo wise.

He also does have a fun personality which is shown on his interviews and things like Da Party.

For some reason WWE had two options one being the typical heel European route or the fun kick ass style he has in AEW that has a fun side to it - Check out his theme song as perfect example of that.

He and Miro are the greatest missed opportunities at stars right under their nose.

Imagine being "done" with a promotion if someone like Claudio becomes champion. :$
Very misused in the WWE. Which is where a lot of the criticism of him come from is the WWE fans. They only see what Vince wanted them to see. So From their perspective Claudio is dull and just another Indy wrassler. while Roman is the best all round entertainer.

It’s the same people who don’t like orange Cassidy but work watch anyway and can’t admit he has had some banger matches like against PAC and Ospreay

Claudios work as Cesaro in the Bar with Sheamus was top notch they did everything from serious to comedy and could be used as opening or main event.

He is a star, was just held back / misused probably because he got over by himself as part of the real Americans. Vince doesn’t like it when someone gets over by themselves.

Why he could be a mainstream star with the WWE something he can never reach in AEW.
Lol. He'd be a watered down, smaller version of Miz. Given joke segments and no credibility. It would be good for exposure and ability to do movies and or other things after (or during) wrestling and nothing else.

He will be back extremely shortly and the talk of the business again in a worked angle against the company.

As a match it was entertaining.

But considering how easily Wardlow has beaten EVERYBODY (including MJF, Scorpio Sky and 20 blokes at once) why was Orange Cassidy of all people the one to push him the most?

It was strange booking, which is not something I usually complain about. And I'm not an OC hater.

The match either shouldn't have happened or should have been half the length. Cassidy pushed Wardlow so far he couldn't even deliver more than 1 powerbomb.

I tend to agree. Wardlow is your future. The larger than life kick ass machine that is going to attract the eye of casual or on the fence viewers. Despite a good match, i think it’s more of a turn off for the casual, sorta such as myself, to see such a smaller and goofy character get so much in against what many including me think is next big thing.

In saying that, is it strange booking? Not really when you consider how they book and who they book for. And that’s fine since it seems to be sustainable.

You can tell that they’re trying to make him the next Goldberg. The music, the entrance. The squash matches etc.

I don't see it being a turn off for casuals, OC is extremely popular with casuals.

According to who?

All the "casual" wrestling fans that I interact with think that Orange Cassidy is a joke.

I mean majority of the casuals I interact with think wrestling is a joke, so they really only enjoy the characters that lean into the stupidity of it all. Only anecdotal though, as it is for others.

Wtf is a casual fan?
Is that someone who only watches Wwe because that’s the big leagues?
But then they are not a casual fan of wwe, only aew japan etc?

I've mentioned a group of my friends previously who I'd define as "casual" fans. Growing up we used to all be fans of professional wrestling and used to share pirated files of ROH & TNA after some of them became disengaged with the WWE. Many of them were big fans of Danielson, Punk, etc.

When Punk debuted in AEW last year many of them spoke about professional wrestling for the first time in years. Some of them even signed up to AEW+. However I know that most of them still only watch once every few weeks or so. They watch for Punk, Danielson, Eddie Kingston, etc. None of them are fans of Orange Cassidy.

I think it's the difference between "casual" fans & non-wrestling fans who watch the something because they are forced to by a fan.

Ok u inadvertently answered my question,
So a casual fan is someone who used to watch weekly and no longer pays attention because they don’t like it at much as they used to.
I didn’t get the saying as to my knowledge people are either fans or they are not.

But now I know.
So I was a casual fan for about 10 years 05-15 😂

I agree with you that the term "casual fan" is a bit strange and doesn't make much sense.

I provided my definition of it, but I know it's not the same way as many other people define it.

I’d say more Batista than Goldberg. Even a young version of Brock, before he went to UFC. The thing with Goldberg he was easily found out against Bret Hart and Regal. Wardlow seems to have a better understanding and awareness.
