Why not something realistic, like;

Goldsack or McCarthy.

That's the type of player we will ultimately lose to GWS, just like we basically gave Fraser to the Suns.

They will not get a best 22 player from us, let alone a star like Reid or Thomas.

If it's a big game or whenever we are in trouble, Daisy always seems to find something special. For that reason I reckon that he's just about our most important player.

The above seems a more likely thing to happen, i know everyone is worried but i'm confident he wont go, Thomas knows hes in a good bargaining situation and he an his agent are just milking it.

Pros of Going to GWS:
Money.

Cons:
1 His mum is here who he is really close with
2 hes a show off and loves the big crowds, only pies can provide this.
3 his mates are here
4 he would already have a bit of cash i suspect

i think goldsack and macarthy are the ones that will be thrown up at end of year.

Thomas for three reasons:

1. I think he is easier to replace from players currently on our list
2. He would garner the greatest compensation
3. He would offer us the greatest salary cap relief

I am like every other poster in this thread. I wouldn't have a clue if we are going to lose a player to GWS. GWS have kept the rumours very quiet, unlike Gold Coast last year.

The Dale Thomas situation looks the most vulnerable for us. GWS will/have offered Dale more money than we could possibly compete with. Contract negotiations keep stalling, Eddie is constantly whingeing in the press about matters involving GWS and other clubs and Dale could virtually captain GWS in his first year. The signs are not great.

If DT is not signed up in the next few weeks, I would be worried about losing him.

Happy to lose either Big Name to GWS, as long as we get to keep the actual player.

The player formally known as Dale Thomas would be known as Floppy Lightning Dash. The kids membership package in his name would be renamed 'Floppy 13's finest'.

Ben Reid would be known as Cool Tower Repel. Would make a great chant: "Coooooll Tower Reeepeeeeeeeeeeeeeel ... Coooooll Tower Reeepeeeeeeeeeeeeeel ... '.

GWS can do what they like with the names - might be a good idea for the coach formally known as Kevin Sheedy to take on the big name Dale Thomas himself (an extra second round draft pick gets him the 'Daisy' moniker and a blonde wig thrown in). Good like-for-like replacement as they both stir manure. May improve GWS appeal to the younger falafel eating folk - kind of like having plastic surgery to your name.
