Why is Wellingham speaking to Gubby??

Just seen Gubby the shark Allan speaking to Wellingham at a cafe on Chapel St. I was having lunch there and asked him how he is going and why is he chatting to him? Sharrod laughed & said, "doing well and keeping my options open mate".......
I ask myself -
Doesnt he still have a year to go with the pies??
Could GWS try take him?? I dont trust Gubby...

what this space. Would not like to see him go.....

Would be a fantastic signing for GWS. Wellingham would excel as the number 1 or 2 mid. He'd have every right to go tbh.

Not out of the question Dave, however I find it fishy that Gubby is speaking directly to Sharrod anyway (especially in such a public place its just unprofessional). In circumstances like that Gubby would need to be talking to Geoff Walsh and Sharrod's management, which is why I'm hesitant to believe this.

You can believe what you like, however my advice would be to give this rumour as little credence as possible (not saying it isn't true I just have my doubts).

Because the reality is that unofficial chats very rarely occur unless its between mates (Buckley meeting up with Sanderson) and something tells me Wellingham and Gubby aren't exactly close enough to be meeting up for a casual chat.

We all realise that. Its just that considering we are currently in 2011 it makes any discussions with Sharrod atm a bit of a non-issue. If they were having the alleged conversation this time next year with Sharrod not having re-signed then it would become relevant.

Agree, especially on a busy street like Chapel. If its true then you'd expect multiple people to be ringing in radio stations which will then be published. If this story isn't coming out then it's obviously a troll.

There is however a few things that don't add up about it. Why hasn't he been spotted having a chat with any of Scully, Davis, Ward, Clark or Palmer in public places at any stage in the past 12 months? Why pick Chapel St? Why not somewhere a little more secluded?

Funny that the only two players that he's been rumoured to be spotted having these impromptu chats with are both from Collingwood in Pendles and Wellers and are both signed on until 2012....

On a side note though perhaps this discussion belongs in the GWS speculation thread anyway?

I saw this as well, I can confirm it's 100% true. Wellingham had a chicken foie gras and caviar coupled with a delightful celeriac remoulade. I couldn't see exactly what the Gubster was eating but it looked, from my obscured angle, like grits. The Gubsters head appeared as though it was going to explode, but Wellingham's disposition indicated anything but an acrimonious affair. There was a certain look in Sharrod's eyes that I thought for a moment was a sycophantic twinkle, as if to say, "Yes, yes Gub my food is delightful, and I am enjoying myself in your company a great deal'. Laughs were had and not a small amount of port was consumed.

The last I saw was them leaving hand in hand and then I lost sight of them as they were kissing, rounding the corner into...
