Jack Viney had a chat with the Ox on 1116 this afternoon.
Jack was speaking from the ?AIS acadamy who were training in Milan, Italy.
From the brief chat, Jack can clearly string a few sentences together. Sounds like a smart, confident and good natured kid. He spoke about how pumped he was to be joining Melbourne in a few years.
Not really too much to read into, but all good nonetheless.

i have revealed things to you in confidence that i would be extremely disappointed to see become public knowledge.
i also heard this. love the ox too, just so excited about the dees. would be good if he as down at the club more - i know he sometimes talks about heading down there. sounds like a little kid when he talks about the club

Thought a thread on Jack's exploits throughout the National Championship and otherwise would be a good idea.
He played his first game for Vic Metro this afternoon, gathering 17 disposals.
I'll post the 'Advanced Statistics' when they come online at AFL.com.
If anyone has seen him play recently, opinions will be welcomed.

Handballs: 6
DE%: 65
Marks/CM: 4/1
Con P/Unc P: 9/8
Clearances: 5
Tackles: 2
Inside 50's: 3
Seems a solid game, disposal efficiency needs a bit of work, but as it was his first competitive game of
under 18's I think he can be cut a little slack.

He is under age dont forget so its an impressive first up effort to be named in the best.
Our inside stoppage work at ground level is going to be our strength. Imagine Viney, Beamer, Scully, Trengove, Gysberts and McKenzie around the ball in a few years time.
Davey needs some backup on the outside..
