I really hope this pointless debate doesn't take over the thread. Ibbo has been given 6 years of development and still hasn't done much and people are damning Jayden Pitt, who is very much a project player after one season.

The Mundy projection is just hope. He'll be closer to Ibbotson.

I'm not sure where I said he would turn out like Mundy. I believe I said he shares the same quality of appearing to have more time to make decisions than others.

You probably wrote off Mundy after his first few years.

Pitt is nothing like Ibbotson.

Today I had a chat to one of the fitness staff who said that Morabito's knee is not good at all and that whenever Anthony goes for a run he pulls up very sore.
He also said that Morabito is unlikely to play a major part of the year and may even require further surgery to get his knee right.

I know not good news, he is my favourite player. I actually met him after I was invited over to his friends house whom is good mates with him and I sort of chimed in and asked after hearing he worked for freo.

Ibbotson will be a very good player for Freo bookmark it. He will make a lot of people eat humble pie. Same rubbish said about him as Mundy a few years ago.
Very glad to hear Suban has been working on his kicking out. We should try and make him a Josh Hunt clone. If we do that we will be a much better team

I've never done this but I'm calling bullsh!t...

On another point, Ibbo was attrocious for us in his only game (I think he only played one) in his debut year. Everyone thought that Drum was going to be our superstar from that draft with good form in his first season.

It's way to early to make a call or to feel disapointed with Pitt.

Um, wake up guys! Obviously Mora's knee is not right. It's been almost 14 months and the guy can't even complete a partial training session. Even if he plays late in the NAB cup don't expect much from him IF he gets a game early in the year. There is an article on the AFL website about Lenny Hayes who is ready to play in the NAB cup despite having his knee reco waaaaayyyy after Mora did his. I too have heard rumours that he won't be ready to play until mid season but haven't posted it because everyone on here is so quick to attack someone who posts something that can't be verified.

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Thought I would have a read on the MEGA thread. I started at the last post and made it back to the Ibbo and Mora posts.

Pitt and Ibbotson are not competing for the same spot so who cares - yeah Ibbo is an underachiever for the talent he possesses. He plays well when we are winning. Pitt is going to be good. Not sure with Morabito, and while it would be nice to have him ready to go, he is only young and has heaps of talent so lets make sure he is right and if he comes back mid year I am fine with that. If it is BS then even better.

That post makes you sound like a really mean person. There are always going some rumours that have no truth behind them but I would still like to hear them and interpret for myself. For all you know he may be telling the truth. It's not that farfetched and there have been similar reports floating around. I mean he only a couple of weeks ago flew to melbourne to see a knee specialist.

No, I didn't. Mundy was excellent in 2006 and very good in 2005. Had a tonne of poise, as well as his kicking skills.

I just don't see that in Pitt. I really don't care how good Pitt looks at training. In games he was lost. Even in space with no pressure, he messed up kicks. His disposal efficiency was poor.

I think he had one really good kick all year.

Your mind is fixed and won't be changed. But Mundy had 12Kg's on Pitt in his first season which makes it a lot easier. They were the same height when drafted.

Apologies to the assembled for sounding mean, its just the delivery from gldy, of such information... (his favourite player experiencing EVEN MORE setbacks) was so casual and with such lack of detail, I feel he is not respecting the gravitas of this news, at least not as I imagine one would, posessing a fans obligation.

Your right. Dud recruit, delist the kid. If weight didn't matter then none of the AFL's recruits would need to up their calorie intake and put on up to 25Kg's. The whole teams kicking was woeful last year. It often gets forgotten that Vic recruits have never played against men before and can't always step in and be super composed.

The whole point of recruiting a project player is that their upside will not be seen for some time.
