Meh, another RB for Green Bays rotation. Grant and Starks have first dibs comfortably, Kuhn still gets his, but Grant's getting on and Starks is no sure thing so he might get his chance. Personally would have taken 1-3 other RBs from this draft class first.

First free agent off the board.

Green is listed as the #1 KR so there are some points available there. Whether he gets much of a chance for the next few years is debatable though imo. Grant's only 28 so you'd think has ~3 years of quality play left and Starks showed quite a bit last season too.

I can see 2 RBs I would have thought to have gone before Green

RBs normally lose their spark around 29 years old unless they started late into their careers, ala Turner. Add in Grants numerous injuries, long or short term, I reckon he's got a year or so left, and thats if Starks doesn't oust him. Not that I think Starks will amount to much but people seem to think it's a possibility :p

Grant's only been in the league 4 years. ;) And he didnt run the ball a huge amount in college either so there arent too many miles on his legs

Numerous injuries? He played 15 games his rookie year, 16 in his next 2 (30/32 starting) and then got injured in his first game last year

5 years (Practice squad Giants for first year)

He had one or two small injuries hisfirst year with Green Bay

IIRC he lost his entire preseason in 2008 to injury and had a niggling knee injury all year long in 2009, which resulted in merely mediocre play for 2/3rds of the year.

And of course last years injury.

Well I learned something. I've seen plenty of Packers fan go on about how he isnt injury prone and just took it as rote seeing as how he hasnt missed many games.

I imagine that Woodson drafting an injured slot receiver is nothing out of the ordinary :p
I actually like Woodsons draft so far. Given when they were drafted I don't think you can really fault the Young or Cobb picks. ESP with everyone talking up Cobb.

Woodson probably with the best offseason so far, draft and trade combination wise (Ignoring that one trade)

Oh my oh my!! While you guys were getting all giddy about exchanging for a busted wheel in Ryan Torian, Mustangs GM, LD was doing CARTWHEELS!! :thumbsu:

We got the guy we wanted!! Randall Cobb will be a SUPER STAR!!

:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Not sure if Cobb is a RB or a WR.
This draft quote put me off a bit...." Only possesses adequate overall ball skills as a receiver"

Wasn't much at 21 imo. Don't like the QBs much, RBs left are either too small or not versatile enough, maybe one of two WRs. I liked Hankerson who went at 20, but thought i needed some back up at RB. LT is on last legs, Lynch is Lynch and not sure if Hillis be a top RB again. Torain is currently a RB1 so worth a risk.

As for Starks, anything he does is a bonus considering i drafted him at 4th/5th round.

WR everyday of the week is Cobb.

I like the talent in a PPR, its the situation that would worry me.

Agreed. Cobb is a slot WR who can take 5 yd slants 25 yd with his YAC ability but will not amount to much as an outside WR. He is stuck behind 4 far better WRs and 2-3 TEs that can split out wide though so might not see the field besides on ST

Bear in mind that the greed karma played a bit part in that 'supposably lopsided' deal. So to compensate, I didn't ask for much. Stands to reason, you'll see. Still get my QB as the other QB's will be most likely be riding the pine and list clogging in 2011. :p

The fact that Titus Young is coming thru Detroit who are clearly re-building, it makes sense to hone in on #3 WR option for Stafford. I was so tempted with two other high promising WR's on this pick that could well have better first year achievers than Young, but sheesh, one has to draw the line. Like the idea that Titus Young will draw minimum attention with Megatron on the other side.

waivers same as explained before.

player pool locks after MNF, two days for everyone to make waiver claims, thursday night (our time) waivers processed, move to last after claim, after thursday, everyone becomes FA, first in best dressed, signing then cutting someone they stay FA, any player owned previous to the week who is cut becomes a WA for 2 days.

after the draft, everyone's gonna be a FA, i think even tho there are pre-season games. I will be keeping FA locked right thru the pre-season games, open FA up a few days before week 1, or after week 1 to ensure first action after draft is waivers.

dunno yet.

Thanks. I understood what happens during the season but I wasnt sure what happens between the draft and the first 'real' game

Yeah, the aim will be having a waiver period before the first regular season game. We'll finish this draft very quickly. Usually, the player pool is kept locked thruout the pre-season games. And opened up just before week 1 is to begin, to give everyone an equal chance making claims or signing.

Just not sure if there'll be a waiver period before week 1.
