I went, weird night all round. Aside from the strangeness on the field, there were only two blokes in my entire row of seats. There was a small bear wearing St Kilda colours, knitted boots, badges, sunglasses and a scarf sitting on the fence near by. I was sitting directly behind Tim Watson and he couldn't work out what he was going to say at half time because the footy was that bad.

I really didn't know what to take away from the game. Weird night.

Worst game I've ever seen. Absolutely awful. I understand why St. Kilda are doing it - to stop the flow of the Bulldogs' running game. But it just leads to a really awful spectacle. I just really hope that if they do win the flag this year that the Grand Final isn't a display like tonight's.

Looking forward to seeing Geelong play this weekend to see an entertaining team play.

Better off watching your own team at present, they are enjoying their footy, we are in a rut and struggling, and this weekend could produce anything. Ablett, Corey and Scarlett missing will make it less entertaining

Dude, I was at the game tonight as Bulldog fan and St Kilda were an absolute disgrace.
Unfortunately the Bulldogs were even worse and played right into their dirty little hands. I have never seen a team play so poorly and win.
Why on earth did we keep chipping the ball around when we were so much better? If Reiwoldt doesn't come back the Saints will be lucky to make the finals, they are a horrible football team. Unfortunately the Doggies are worse.

it was only 3 years ago when they were the most attacking team in the league and most teams flooded them knowing they would bomb it into them.

That 'annoying' gameplan has beaten three of the top teams this year in yourselves, the Swans and the Doggies.

I mean what are they scared of ? Some sort of contest? Are the pathalogically trianed to never kick to a one on one contest? They simply incapable of taking *any* sort of risk?

Patience. Wait for the right option. No silly errors. Today was emphasized by the fact our skills were horrible.

Is there no justice at all? How can so side so underserving fall over the line? Why didnt the dogs just flood back in the last quarter and simply play keepings off until the saints went down and picked their men up.

a) Isn't winning what this game is all about. I mean, you don't get 4 points for a 'great' loss do you?
b) They did. And they failed miserably.

For the good of football the saints must be taken out. IF this brand of football is sucessfull and starts being used by other clubs, football is going to be the loser. Why arnt the saints just booed everywhere they go? Why arent the commentators just relentlessly bagging for crimes against football.

Because they see winning as the number one priority. We must be taken out? For the love of god.

Football should be about about taking risks. This strangulation of the Game is ugly, boring, wrong, evil, the source of all bad things and must be stopped.

If we don't need to, why should we? High scoring, free flowing football isn't everything.

The Saints are a blight on the game, I call on all football supporters to bag them mercilessly at every chance they get. They deserve no respect, they are cowards. theives, cheats, dispeciable people who will inflict any crime on football, without shame.

Called defensive preasure and it involves discipline and fantastic skills. Great game to watch as you could see StKilda take everything the Dogs had hold there nerve then put them away.

First half just ended over here and it has been a great physical contest so far. One of the better games to watch so far this season. The skills are good, especially defensive skills, lots of good contests.

Honestly... does it just fall of a cliff or something based on all the threads?

It's a hard one this, I am so grateful we won in 2007 to break the drought, and the end to last year's GF was amazing, but I think I still prefer the way we played each week in the late 80s/early 90s, when it was all about enjoying each moment. I think it's about the hope and inspiration that comes from how your team goes each week.

I don't want to feel my team is just moving towards the premiership like a company moving towards end-of-financial-year targets. I want it to be enjoyable each week, even if they fall short at the end.
