You seem determined to prove my initial point about the mob piling on anyone who goes against the narrative.
it's as if you're a member of a cult.
Ironic, considering the subject of this thread, no ?

can you see the difference between faith, beliefs vs safe work environments?

you can have both and neither are at risk of each other

Don't argue with these 'snowflake' fools mate. This board is 90% full of the wokest, most brainwashed silly people on the planet. If you don't support homosexuality and are anti- abortion you are the anti-christ bro. You should know this already, the mob (the kapos) have spoken.
This is playing the victim. I don't even believe in the anti-christ. I have not once accused that poster of being evil.

You are simply inventing a narrative where you are being persecuted - but in reality, people just disagree with your opinion.

You’d prefer you can just post your misinformed opinions without a murmur of disagreement, clearly.

Always the way with RW culture warriors. Banging on about free speech until some comes their way.

Pot calling the kettle black. Snow flakes are always deflecting.
He's not playing the victim, if he was he'd be on your side of politics.

This thread just took a mighty intellectual elevation.

a cut and paste of the churches position on gays and abortion. The comments not bolded are not in conflict with a safe work environment and the ones bolded are.

This highlights that a church can have faith and or positions on homosexuality and abortion without crossing the line. but they have to choose their words carefully on important matters and not go overboard.

Cut and past from
1) "Human life begins at conception. All women and men have intrinsic value and worth as images of God. Abortion denies the voice of the most vulnerable ... 80 per cent of those who have aborted their child have regretted it."

Absolutely acceptable

2) In another sermon on the site, it is stated: "Whereas today we look back at (sic) sadness and disgust over concentration camps, future generations will look back with sadness at the legal murder of hundreds of thousands of human beings every day through medicine and in the name of freedom.

Totally unacceptable

3) A further sermon on homosexuality reads: "Sex is designed for marriage, and marriage for fulfilling God's mandate for humans to 'be fruitful and multiply'. The Torah condemned the practice of homosexuality so that Israel would stand out among the nations.

Acceptable until Gay marriage was lawful. Why? Churches are not forced to carry out gay marriages or any marriage. However, marriage is a legal right and Churches can not deny an individual their rights.

4)"Through Christ, who fulfilled the law, we enter a new law of grace, where struggle is not a sin, but we are told to flee sexual immorality and glorify God with our bodies.

"The Bible never calls same-sex attraction a sin. Lust is a sin, sex outside of marriage is a sin, practising homosexuality is a sin, but same-sex attraction is not a sin.

"The Christian walk is one of struggle with sin yet in the gospel we can find forgiveness and grace. We ought to find our true love, satisfaction, and acceptance in Jesus."

Unacceptable language. Going as far as calling it a sin, is unacceptable.

Romans 1:26–27 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update.

26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update.

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals.

Apparently the American standard is supposed to be the most accurate English translation. This is new testament, so no reformation argument can be had.

Merriam Webster:
Homosexual, a person who is sexually or romantically attracted to people of their same sex : a gay person and especially a male gay person.

The book is pretty clear about it. It's not an extremist opinion. It's canonical. Just say the book is silly.

Both written by a man who told everyone he spoke god's word, yeah?

Paul, a bloke who changed his name from Saul. A murderer and persecutor of people who didn't believe what he believed, yeah?

Great role model. None of those words were spoken by Yeshua.

Religion is all about power and control?

Well I never!
Well yes, but they are not coming from a position of inherited power. They are doing it by deception, as they have in the US. They are just as active here, and would ban abortion and gay marriage in a heart beat if they had the numbers.

churches pick and choose which parts of the bible they adopt.

ie would a sensible church preach an eye for an eye? Why.......because it is likely unlawful. Hmmmmmm.....unlawful! There's a thought, especially when it comes to workplace laws!

Who gives a ****. The book is ridiculous. Even Yeshua's words are only transcriptions of a charlatan or a pure fabrication.

You think bankers care about anything other than money?

yes

that's why I pulled you up on your abuse of power and your atrocious racism (that has legal precedence)

perhaps people are people, rather than defined by their occupation or skin colour (that you are all to happy to attack)

What they choose to adopt doesn't determine what is or is not a sin. If you are gay and want to believe in some self deception that permits you to be a Christian, fine, but it's pretty ridiculous to paint yourself as a metaphorical prophet to determine things directly opposite to what the book says. Have the fortitude to reject the thing in it's entirety.

If a church can ignore parts of the bible, as it is no longer appropriate......it can ignore others.

FTR and perspective - patrons of a church can believe anything they want and it won't impact their employment elsewhere. But if the Chair or a CEO fail to keep a safe work environment at a Church (as per Thonburn), then they can't expect to be trusted elsewhere in positions that carry legal obligations of a safeworkplace.

We need to cut religion from the list of inclusiveness if real inclusiveness is going to be achieved. Unfortunately your imaginary friend has no rights.

Sex Discrimination Act 1984

Under exemptions:

37 Religious bodies

(1) Nothing in Division 1 or 2 affects:

(d) any other act or practice of a body established for religious purposes, being an act or practice that conforms to the doctrines, tenets or beliefs of that religion or is necessary to avoid injury to the religious susceptibilities of adherents of that religion.

He is exempt for work he does in relation to his religion as long as it is in accordance with teachings.

Ah, what if one of the church employees is not an adherent to those tenets?

They don't. Not at the level Thorburn operates at. Not even at the broker level. I am sorry, but they serve the golden bulls and love it.

Banking is greed. It's not the superficial face that kids with a savings bank account get taught at school. If you are a banker with morals you won't make money, which defeats the entire purpose of being there.

Sure, there are employees that do customer service, but they are not the bankers we are referring to.

Don't play the victim. Or flip the tables. People can have faith, but they can't use it as a shield to vilify innocent people and try to tell them what to do with their own bodies or how to behave in their own private lives.

We are very tolerant. Even though faith is the preserve of the intellectually lazy who rely on indoctrinating children to sell their story.
Oh go blow a goat. Woke and religion are two sides of the same coin. Both nauseatingly holier than thou pricks looking for someone to hate on.
I wish both sides would just kill each other and leave the rest of us alone
