Would you be saying the same thing if it was a Mosque?

Does the average Joe care about Israel
I'm not sure it's the burning issue in the suburbs

I could see younger progressive voters caring about it, which would be a voting bloc the ALP would like to win.

Being LNP-lite probably isn’t a winning move with the younger cohort becoming a bigger share of the voter base.

But they aren't going to vote LNP anyway so in most seats, the ALP will still get their vote.

Muslim bashing was government policy under the Liberal Party with a former PM suggesting that fomenting anti Islam feelings might even be a vote winner so it's a bit rich to see the floods of crocodile tears being wept by various opposition MPs at the moment.

I'd like to know the voter breakdown of Muslim Australians and Jewish Australians with regard to Labor and Liberal. The Liberal Party's hysterical and unquestioning support for the Netanyahu regime indicates they think it's some kind of vote winner.

But as appalling as this war is, it'll pale in comparison to cost of living at the election.

No, but Albanese is mindful of the Muslim vote in a lot of previously safe Labor seats, and Dutton is trying to woo back the Jewish vote in some seats that went TeTeal.
Of the two I'd suggest Labor has the bigger issue.

You mean Labor has more seats at risk than the Libs, or they have a tougher job convincing Muslim voters to stick with them than Dutton has winning back Teal seats?

I’m not convinced Dutton is winning back any of those historically Lib seats yet. What gains he might make will be elsewhere.

More seats at risk.

The Jewish community is only a few seats at best. The Muslim community tends to be more outer suburban.

any outer suburban voter bleed towards lurch will be on the back of an alt right/Qooker protest (idiots)

could be very wrong but expect a large chunk of the disillusioned muslim vote will explore options aligned with the socialist/green left ..... would small business owners/entrepreneurs have ever voted labor anyway?

where the jewish vote ends up is more of a mystery .... lurches language suggests he sees an opportunity here but im not so sure (it might work in a affluent seat like goldstein but then zoe daniels has been fairly careful in her commentary on the conflict.... and of course tim wilson is an objectionable prayer room boy bellend)

They might vote Greens or Independents, which might result in a minority ALP government, but the ALP would obviously prefer they just got the votes outright.

Plus, the ALP finding its feet again as something other than LNP lite is a good thing.

The ALPs margins are higher, why would those Muslim voters switch Liberal en masse especially when like all groups of Australians, as individuals they all have different priorities and will vote as such not all change based on one issue.

You will probably also find that as a diverse groups, some Muslim Australians won't have much sympathy for Palestinians just like some Jewish Australians don't like Israel's actions.
