I'll be there. Checking out the VFL side playing the Gold Coast at Southport hopefully beforehand.
I'll be driving down. Possibly sneak in this game too but doesn't leave a heap of time to get to my hotel then back to the Gabba by 7.00pm. May have to leave the VFL game early. Hopefully have the game wrapped up by 3 quarter time anyway.
I live up here and will be there.
there is a pre-game function at the Pineapple Hotel that a bunch of us are going to and then walking down to the game. Des Tuddenham is the guest speaker, you should all come along!

I'm hoping to go. So far, nobody is locked in to go with me.
So, i may have to fly solo. Its a lot of fun going to the Gabba in Pies gear.
Its the one day of the year Brisbanites suddenly become passionate about the game. Everyone's an expert all of a sudden, and they all remember how much they hate Collingwood.

Just watching the Channell 10 news, and it showed the Pies players at the airport, leaving for WA. Thought i saw ex-NBL player David Stiff in the Pies tracksuit with the team. Was it him, and if so what role does he have with the team?

Thommo, I am Melbourne based but in Brisbane once a month, I was at the Pineapple hotel 3 weeks ago, What time does the function start and what is the cost please?
I don't have all the details as a bloke I play footy with is organising, pretty sure its through the QLD Magpies and the cost including ticket is $95 and might be $45 with no ticket.
I just checked their website and all the info on there is for last years function, so better off probably just giving them a call.
I used to work for the Lions, then worked for a Lions sponsor. So this is the first time in a decade I will be going to the Gabba with mates that follow Collingwood instead of in some official capacity, and I'm pumped!
