What do I think? I think we'll get a beating thrown our way. We've played well so far this year, but that is a whole different ball game.

Having said that, I also think that a win would send us all into a serious level of joygasm, frothing at the mouth and delusions of grandeur.

Words like flag, Baby Bombers and I want Hirdys babies would be thrown around with reckless abandon.

Even without Dawes, Collingwood would be nearly impossible to beat on ANZAC Day. Our boys were cactus at the end of the game and it'll be a miracle if they can get up for the occassion. Collingwood will be looking to send a message!

We can do it. And we did have 2 less on the bench which is why they were tired. Sure I will tip Collingwood, but I think we have a good chance to win.

I am absolutely pumped to be getting a shot at Collingwood this week.

Stuff hoping for an easier draw, if you want to win a flag you have to play and beat the best, and thats exactly what we can have a crack at this week.

I say throw all three ruckmen at them, try and isolate Hurley, have Fletcher run off half back and let them try tag Watson.

Nothing to lose - bring this s*** on!!

We have a 9 day break. The boys will be 100%.

I tip that it will be close all game then Collingwood will gain the ascendency in the last quarter and have a 15 point advantage into time on in the last quarter. Collingwood supporters will be all cocky and gloating. Then there will be two quick goals to Essendon, then with a few seconds to spare.

ZAHARAKIS!! The Bombers are in front!!

work it so hurley is somehow in the goal square against obrien and pump in the highballs!

Dawes looking all but out of ANZAC Day.

Gleeson now summing up by saying it's not said that Dawes intentionally hit Conca or was 'reckless', but was 'negligent'. Gleeson saying it was a clumsy attempt to block. He says it can't be entirely explained by a large man bracing for a fall to the ground. Highlights the 'swatting' action again.

Nup, hes free to play

Wayne Henwood speaking on behalf of the tribunal said the contact was accidental, not negligent, and as such Dawes is off the hook. Great news for the Magpies. Not so good for the Bombers.

No offence to Hooker, but I think he'll be slaughtered in the air one on one against Cloke.

I haven't seen many Essendon games this year but is the gist Hurley is a forward now? Any chance he can take one of Cloke/Dawes?

Not a chance Hurley would go back to defense. He has shown too much this year to warrant such a move in the biggest match of the H&A season

Because without Dawes it makes our task for beating Collingwood much easier.

If Essendon is going to be good enough, they have to be good enough against anybody at full strength.

Hoping other teams get suspensions or injuries won't make our team better.

If anything, playing against a great team at full strength is one of the best ways to see how you need to improve.

Hooker is usually quite reliable one-on-one. On the lead is where he would get caught out, or following Cloke back into the F50.

Defensive match ups

Fletcher - Dawes
Hooker - Cloke
Hardingham - Krakour
McVeigh - Didak
Heppell - Blair
Lovett-Murray - Brown

Not bad but i would look at changing McViegh & Hardingham, just see macca doin a better job on the smaller type forward player with hardingham being abit more athletic 2 go with didak, but would still be happy either way!
& any chance we could maybe use heppell on half forward (winders role) & if he gets selected maybe put colyer on blair as is roughly same size (albeit abit skinnier) but they dont really use blair as a marking option just a crumbing option, so think with colyers run he could go with him?? Just an idea??

Yeah but sometimes FC u may have 2 do a team role & play in other positions & as he would be the next best fit for a KDP & having 3 talls means we could use ryder a CHF & Hille FF while resting, still a good looking forward line??
