Just have a vibe about him.On what do you base that assessment? You may be right, but what evidence exists to justify your statement?
His Problem is he does drop a lot of Marks as he Nearly Marks them
I still think Mason Cox's pack mark problem is he takes his eyes off the ball when it gets within a metre of him. He seems too concerned with where he is going to land rather than watch the ball right into his hands. But I thought he was getting better at it at training this year. His Problem is he does drop a lot of Marks as he Nearly Marks them
He took a number of contested marks in that last game against Melbourne. He is beginning to look more like a footballer in his approach to a marking contest.I still think Mason Cox's pack mark problem is he takes his eyes off the ball when it gets within a metre of him. His VFL contested marking stats were off the scale last year, so he's progressing in this area.He took a number of contested marks in that last game against Melbourne. He is beginning to look more like a footballer in his approach to a marking contest.
The big issue with Grundy as a forward isn't a lack of development for the role. It's that he doesn't read the flight of the ball very well. It makes him a mediocre marking target wherever he is on the ground. He's improving, but is still a long way from being good in this regard, which he needs to be to become a good forward.Grundy should Potential up Forward as a Underager and we done lack of Work of that at Collingwood
I like him and think that he could be a very good crumbing forward for us who can push up the ground when needed. Just need his tackles to stick.Funny how broomhead has gone to someone we all had high hopes for to now a player most expect gone by end of year......really hope broomy turns it on this year.....is he lookimg good this pre season?

Thanks for the informed assessment JmacJust have a vibe about him.
If it looks, acts and smells like a duck it’s a duck. Grundy looks, acts and smells like a follower. As a forward he’ll only ever be a square peg in a round hole.
You got the 'like' for services to metaphor and simile
Got this via text this morning:
McLarty trained exceptionally well, he took Grundy to the cleaners around the ground
Murphy being used as a KF due to his exceptional marking
What does a follower smell like?Yeah and at the current rate of improvement he might get it by the age of 50! If it looks, acts and smells like a duck it’s a duck. Grundy looks, acts and smells like a follower. As a forward he’ll only ever be a square peg in a round hole.
What does a follower smell like?
Hey man, you're welcome..Thanks for the informed assessment Jmac
That sounds great. When Grundy is resting though, wouldn't it be beneficial if he could play as a forward say 30% of the game?Cox...
Of the Dean variety
He averaged .5 goals a game and was never looked upon as ruck that could be used in a forward role. He kicked his goals on the spread by exploiting his opponents ability to go with him. Just as Grundy should.
Attempting to develop his forward craft is fools gold!
I would take that in a heartbeatMedhurst MK 2?

Haven't we already got someone better that Medhurst?I would take that in a heartbeat

If fit agree far better player.Haven't we already got someone better that Medhurst?

A fit Elliott would give us an excellent chance of finals. Hopefully the club is now on top of his ankle issue and we get to see him in full flight. If fit agree far better player.
Borderline A grade and if fit IS A grade.
That good
Elliott, Faz, Murphy. That would be some decent small forward marking power.
Round out with a fit Kirby and that would cause some headaches for most teams.
Also with mids like Sidebottom, Phillips and Adams pushing forward for crumbing goals. I think we have the makings of a very potent forward line.We just need to fix our field kicking.Elliott, Faz, Murphy. That would be some decent small forward marking power.
