This is a really great topic and I'm sure you must have spent hours putting your grey cell to work to come up with it.

You're right. The Demons are dull, colourless and boring. I watched Carlton in the last game against the Kangaroos and was thoroughly excited by their exhilarating style of play. It was high scoring, thrill a minute action. Simply wonderful!

Last year we definately weren't. That Adelaide match was simply breath-taking. Not only for victorious Crow fans, or Demon fans, but for all footy fans. That match was simply amazing.

Sadly, this year, we failed to produce any of that footy reguarly (some short bursts in some matches excluded). When a team is losing and down on confidence, of course they are going to look unattractive and boring. You're telling me Carlton was much better? The most exciting thing was watching Micky 'The Recruit' Martyn make a fool out of himself.

At least with Carlton you can see some excitment and good times ahead with the flair and dash of Fevola (he's hairstyle and unique brand of hand twirls to the crowd is a refreshing change from boring zombies like David Neitz) and the debut of the Waites, the Fishers, etc were weighed down by some underperforming, overpaid senior players who happily have moved on to pastures new.

Carlton do have an young and energetic list (despite our off-season inclusions) and I struggle to think of one melbourne young player (under 21 etc) who is anywhere near in the same class as Jarrad Waite, Fisher or Trent Sporn.

<shakes head>...<and again>...

What a load of crud. You must be easily pleased if excited by Carlton's flair. An oxymoron of the highest order if I've ever head one.

And of the youngsters you mention...IMO only Waite is deserving of a spot on an AFL list.

Your off season inclusions will see an instant improvement - but I'll be very surprised if get you beyond 15th spot on the ladder in 2004.

:p How about all of them?

Hey, life's never dull with the Blues.

Just ask Karl Norman - I'm sure he can spot some exciting young talent 'round the club!!

lol

u get excited about Fevolas hairstyle?

come on man, Fevola is not one fifth of the player that David Neitz is

are you still ****ed off that he destroyed you with 5 goals and 12 marks in round 13?

Neitz - All Australian twice (once at FF, one at CHB) Coleman Medal, Captain of the oldest footy club in the world, Captained his team to a Grand Final in his first year, 426 career goals despite spending half his career down back, Club Best and Fairest etc....

Fevola - ???????????????????????

Ever heard of Brad Miller?

I thought it was pretty exciting in the 2000 qualifying final when Schwarz ran in to an open goal and showed the Carlton players the ball.

Or when Cameron Bruce and Brad Green, both first year players, dominated your weak excuse for a team.

They're no Collingwood, but the dees play some bloody exciting footy.

Carlton will finish higher than Melbourne next year I'm sure.

like to have a wager on that bogan boy, your pathetic team of rejects are without doubt the most mundane bunch of ******s running around, tell me who got flogged by about 120 points in the last game , the thing is you don't know how their skills are because they don't touch the ball.............Dave

Melbourne are simply irrelevant and have been for forty years......if not for sucking on the teat of the cricket club the lame clowns would have folded years ago.....they still will of course, they will not survive...the blues could by their shyte club with loose change.

Melbourne and Geelong run a pretty close race here.

I think fans can play a part in gauging a team's excitement. Melbourne matches have the least atmosphere of any in the league - is this because the Dees are boring to watch or because their fans aren't excitable? Or a bit of both? In any case, a team that's winning is usually reasonably exciting.

Personally, I get excited seeing Yze turn on to his right boot.....

Yes Melbourne ar disgraceful
i am a NMFC member, and i went to the Melbourne v Freo game@ the G. Because the crowd was going to be EXTREMELY poor!!

It was so pathetically boring, the crowd ,ade no noise, i even cheered for FREO! 12,000 people their most of em corparates in the MCC stand, the ground was empty.

Most people say North hav the worst supporter base, but Melbourne and the dogs take the cake!

Loose change eh? Is that the loose change Carlton saved from not having to pay Goddard and Wells last season?
