Opinion Are we Overrated?

Well after such a Bad Game on Saturday a Lot of Posters how come out and have been Saying are we Overrated because how bad we look.

I don't know yet IF this is True or not. What Happened with the Article for me made a Big Difference on how we Performed RD 1.

Yes we are. Saturday night reflected this. People forgot NAB form means nothing. We are overrated. Especially our midfield, we should not be in contention for the best midfield because we don't come close to the Sydney's, Geelong's and West Coast's of the competition.

I think people got a bit caught up in the NAB Challenge hype and overrated us a bit. I still have high expectations for this year as I still believe we have a list that can make the finals but anywhere near the top 4 is a fair bit away.

Media creamed themselves because of how well we did in the trade period, the NAB Cup, and the sheer amount of youth and inexperience in our starting 22. Bringing in young guns like Treloar and Aish fuelled the hype.

I'd love to make finals this year, but everyone tipping us for top four is/was delusional. We'll be far too inconsistent as a young list to achieve that.

In that sense I think we're overrated because I don't think pundits have a realistic expectation of the list.

Yep we are very overrated.. Nothing has changed from last season, we still have a weak forward line and an even worse backline which has not been rectified. It's gonna be a very long year unfortunately.

It is only Round 1 for god's sake. In 6 weeks time we will be writing about whether we were too hasty in writing the side off after Round 1. If we haven't won a game after Round 6 then go for your life.

I think the general level of our posting has been good. I think we have been strong in the pre-season with lots of great threads and tremendous "likes" happening. Every year people expect high standards from us and we haven't dropped away IMO.

Now whilst there has been some decline in quality in posting after the first game I think we shouldn't lose sight of how good we have been as a board collectively. THATSGOLD inevitably will melt down during the year but as that was expected I don't think we can over rate him. TD you really are the Dane Swan of the board except you haven't broken your leg so we are in good shape, you certainly are not over rated.

The article certainly created some interest and an elevated amount of posts hating on certain bald ugly useless journalists, I think we need to probably show some class and address this maturely without highlighting the fat c*** failings.

I do think we perform best as a board when we are under seige. It is an innate Collingwood quality to be able to absorb the haters and grow bigger an better.

It is a long season and we really just have to stick to our processes and systems and concentrate on what we can control week to week.

I think most have us finishing somewhere in the 5-10 range this year... and I think that's accurate, and probably around we will finish.

I have ignored most of those predictions that have us in top 4, or as premiership contenders... just as I ignore most that have us near the bottom 4. (I think these two groups are over-, or under-, rating us).

The result in first round doesn't change that. I would've liked us to perform better, but there are a lot of reason why facing Sydney on the SCG was gonna be a difficult task, and I don't think you can read too much into the 1st game of the year.
I think Friday will tell us a lot more (Richmond should be in a similar range to us at years end), and then we should comfortably win the next 3 games - if we struggle against Richmond and/or have trouble in the next 3 games - then you can start talking about us being overrated, and we might clearly look like not being a top 8 side.

I do not rate, someone rating our performance to date, Round 1, and not least after the players were slandered and our club targeted for the so-called 'drug scandal.'

I do not rate any media personality telling me that the so called scandal wasn't a major contributing factor to that performance. Lets see how we go against Richmond.

I rate Round 1 with an * next to it. I, like most others, yearn for the first game of the year and with great anticipation, thanks Slobbo for spoiling that, you drunk buffoon.
