Are you happy on how we went in the draft today?

Thats a idoitic thing to say. When Richmond drafted JON a few years ago we all laughed and our hysterics have been proven correct. Can you imagine Woodhouse saying "Ask me in 5 years". The job and whole point of the draft is the now of the event. You either blow it or do really well. I guarantee a whole lot of recruiters coaches in that room know who did well and who didnt

No its not, wow you used 1 example :thumbsu:

THey could be awesome for a year - we think they are the best then they are sh!t or vice versa.

Fingers crossed they are 200 gamers.

Very happy with the draft and most of all very happy we got Swift.

Not happy that Geelong picked Mitch Brown over Ash Smith and cost me $2k.

He better be a very good player for WCE!

Good point, I guess it's not really my place to say how happy or how dissappointed I am because I haven't been following the draft. All I know is that Rich seemed to be a good choice.

Congratulations to the draftees though.

so whats that bennel bloke like. ie never heard of him. eagles were lookin at him weren't they??

Pretty happy. Only question would be the JoJo pick - pretty sure he would have been available in the rookie draft, so why not just take Walters and get Jones down the other route?

I went with very happy.

Getting Smith made up for just missing out on Blease.

Swift...Well, you have to back our people because there's no way someone like me could know what's going on with his knees, so I'm happy to have him on board.

Love Naitanui. Like the sounds of the shoe. Don't know much about Jojo but at least we didn't burn the pick for a guy I know is a dud.

Overall, we couldn't lose with our picks and we didn't.

lets see we got
the guy with the biggest leap
the vic metro fairest & best
the best raw talent vossy has ever seen
the quickest bloke
and a tall agile defender who we obviously rate

i love our recruiting department!

Gun draft

I can't believe we got Natty and Swift, both top 12 IMHO.

Shuey looks very good, as does Smith (very fast and good grab)

JoJo toweled Jack Watts earlier this year, and having a young 2nd defender is a good investment for the days when Bones and Huntaa near retirement.

I would read to much into a player towelling another player of high credentials as we know McGinnity towelled up Cotchin bud hasn't pushed for a call up with the year that we had well................

Jordan Jones, you friggin idiots! I am so pissed off that a player like Walters can still be there at 52 and we pick a player who plays a position that we have adequate enough players to fill. With the likes of Glass, Hunter, Wilkes, McKenzie, Spangher, Schofield, Brown and to a lesser extent Staker and Bones to play on tall forwards, why the hell would we need another one.

Very happy with NicNat, Swift and Ash Smth. Not too familiar with Shuey but to be picked up at 18 he must be quite good.

If we can get Clancee Pearce, Matt DeBoer or Casey Sibsado in the rookie draft it would be a nice little victory.

i dont reckon we can get all three because i think freo would be interested in those players too. but hopefully we can snap up 2.

And rightly so wirra, you should be excited.

The thing that strikes me is Judd has not put us off taking the Vic Metro boys. Shuey is a ripper, IMHO. Swift at 20, who would have thunk it??! The woodies must have been praying hard enough in the past couple of weeks because good money was on him not getting to 18, let alone 20. Then to have the balls to call Shuey's name first, we must have known Melbourne wouldn't take Swift. Wow.
Smith at 36, seems another big bonus when he was linked to our 20 pick.

We can only pick up 2 wirra. But Pearce and deBoer would just be the icing on the top.

You may be proven right in time, but a little harsh on a kid who didn't start training until late Jan/Feb, then missed the first 4-6 weeks with injury and then was injured again late in the year with glandular fever.
