Even the people who aren't for it haven't been "boys club... Clean out, Another Trigg fail he must go!!!" against it. I think the club would of expected the discussion, Smart seemed happy for people to debate it and there are valid reasons for and against but the club must not back down because outsiders are upset.

Poll needs a 'Don't care' option. I'm not offended by us wearing the 'State' jumper, but I think we should be wearing our normal guernsey because it's, well, 'our' jumper.

apart from prostituting space on it, i am in the couldn't give a shit mode. but because i don't care, i feel that i can be supportive of the clubs decision. like you i would have preferred they played in the original guernsey, but in reality i couldn't care if we ended up wearing a white clash jumper or lost the toss and ended up being skins.

I love it and will buy one but the longer this goes, I am getting the feeling the SANFL or the AFL will bow to public pressure from the Victorian clubs and Port Adelaide Football Club and force the Crows to abandon the uniform.

Spoke too soon.

5AA are suggesting the SANFL may remove the offer. Oh well, do we have the ball to wear it instead and live with the consequences or just accept the umpires decision.

If everyone has approved it what's the consequence? Fine from...? Permission revoked? Let's pay it with the money made from selling the things.

dont we only have to have it approved by the afl? if not what if that afl says ok and the sanfl say no.

Port will make a heap of money out of this game, let us sell the guernsey and call it "equalisation". Better than a handout.

I like it, but only because it acknowledges our heritage, not because it's against Port Adelaide or anything along those lines. I still can't honestly believe anybody is actually offended by it. I was certain when it first blew up that it was just the two teams posturing against one another, but apparently people are legitimately offended by it. I don't understand it at all.

And Ports isn't? Same fricking design, using their colours. It's ridiculous.

No, it's not. It has some similarities, but it's obviously designed to be a Port guernsey with some similarities to the state jumper. Whereas our was expressedly a "stylised state jumper", announced and marketed as such.

Not in favour. I get the historical link but we are not the state side. It was particularly stupid to try and wear it against Port too. How did they think Port players who had represented the state would feel about that? Hate that bloody 'v' design too.

Edit: But it has turned out to be good publicity for the game. Which is ultimately the point, I guess.

It may seem like a whole lotta fun that it p*sses off Port Power supporters, but wearing a State Guernsey in an AFL game just isn't right.
The Spin Doctors that conjured up this idea simply to stir the pot, and nothing less. As well as beating Port, we need to focus on getting out of the SANFL's clutches and drafting a new Crows Constitution giving Members full voting power over the Board.
This State Guernsey idea isn't going to help.
