He's got no points to defend there remember because of the Russians last year.

Nick looking very unfit in his loss last night
Yep watched him play and didn't look good was grimacing the whole time, couldn't be bother chasing balls was concerning. His serve was still top notch fired 14 aces

His knee was giving him pain I dont get it didn't he had surgery to fix it?

Probably didn't rehab it to a professional standard as he should have

Flicking through the scores I noticed Tomic is playing a challenger in Puerto Rico. A long way from beating Davydenko, Andreev, Soderling & Malisse to set up a QF against Djokovic at Wimbledon.

The first round of qualifying he actually played Donald Young. Nike would cry at their investment in those two.

The other notable player at the tournament is Kei Nishikori playing his first tournament for 2 years.

Thompson beat Mannarino in 3 sets so him and Rinky play for a final spot. Hoping Rinky can win as that win gets him almost in the top 100 and might allow Wimbledon to give him a WC as they usually give a couple who do well in warm up events

I'm loving the grass season wishing it went longer as most of us do. Aussie men having been doing well this week, looking forwards to watching O'Connell again. Glad his knee injury didn't amount to much after hitting his knee with his racket earlier in the tournament. On Nick I don't think there will be much improvement to the hard court swing. Honestly I don't know why he bothers, who is his trainer? Surely they should of been pushing to rehab the knee. Oh that's right Nick does it his way. TBF he has been sidetracked a bit with his car getting stolen which involved a family member, which would of been distressing for him. But saying that he should of been rehabing for a while plus wouldn't he be encouraged to hit with any juniors or other players that are in Sydney to get match fit and prepare for the grass. There are grass courts in Australia.
