Loss in a cracking tiebreak. Unfortunate. And 7-5 got him!
Rune wins in 3. Ruud in a tight match so far. How good are these late night sessions in Acapulco?!Good match going on in Acapulco atm - Ben Shelton takes the first set against Rune
OConnell qualifies for Dubai, will play Ruusuvori first up.
And now breaks, again, for a 4-3 lead. And takes the first set 7/5
Solid win by O’Connell. Nice patch of form he’s inAnd now breaks, again, for a 4-3 lead.
FAA takes 90 minutes to take the first against Cressy who served an incredible 12 double faults.
Khachanov moments away from losing.
did Alcaraz pull out from Acapulco?
He was okay, some great hitting, some bad errors. As you said rusty, what you’d expect I guess given the layoff. His opponent though, they mentioned he hadn’t won a tour match since Indian Wells last year. Watching it, how?? He was on fire for long stretches, pounding winners, retrieving everything. Played out of his mind. Djokovic was awesome in the TB though, the AO champion rocked up for that.Rusty start for Djokovic in the middle east.
Yikes. Two tiebreaks that could’ve gone either way.Hahahahahaha ADF up 6-1 in the second set TB with 5 match points…loses tiebreak 8-6. I have no words. He destroys a racquet. Well, I think this one is over. How do you recover mentally from that?
To be honest, don’t think FAA has what it takes to be a top 5 player. Too easily beaten and struggles against Medvedev, Rublev, Rune. Could be wrong thoughThree rather uninspiring matches currently in Acapulco, waiting for Fritz/Shapovalov. Pity it has to clash with ADM. Then Rune and Berrettini matches starting at virtually the same time of course.
Djokovic was sublime overnight, think it was 29 winners, 6 unforced errors. So clean. There was a 15 minute game in the second set which Djokovic eventually broke for a 4-0 lead. Pretty ruthless performance except a slight lapse in concentration when up 5-0 with MP. Faces Hurkacz next, a good test.
FAA lost, really not sure what’s happening with him this year, looks rather ordinary and unimposing. Musetti lost, guy is heading nowhere fast. His attitude stinks, and that BH is ugly.
