ITS the other side of the hill for the power! to many years ontop. but ... can i ask a faithfull port supporter. is it true that last season you only just made a profit?! i was shocked when someone told me this!

and one more question.... is south australia a third world country?! :D
ah you're so funny.

is it true you haven't won anything yet?

and one more question.....do you have a brain? :D

If you REALLY want to know: We are still paying off a massive amount in licence fees, which will be finished in 2005/6 I think, and spent a couple of hundred thousand on upgrades to the club. We still made a reasonable profit after those expenses were deducted though. I'm more disappointed with our attendance figures to tell you the truth, and hope the heck they improve this year as the players deserve a bigger crowd.

Not a good way to prevent trolling kidstyler!

And I left Victoria to get back to SA because I missed it so much. WA's not bad either. Those eastern states do nothing for me though. Ok by you?

Anyway I'm looking forward to a great contest in round 1. If our coach doesn't complaing about SOMETHING after the game, do you think yours will follow suit?? :D

Round 1 should be a ripper of a game.

Who knows what cc's public approach will be this year. Other than his whinging after the the Power wizard cup match, he was generally critiscised for putting too much postitive spin on the teams performance, rather than complaining.

Anyway, I get the feeling that I am in the minority of fans that like the cc show, so he will probably keep a lower profile this year.

Most Port supporters only remember CC for his bleating about us beating you guys up after the Wizard Cup last year. He doesn't get much air-time in Adelaide for some reason...... ;)

I've got more time for him than Cornflakes Thomas tho. That man drives me nuts! He shows no respect for his opposition after a loss.

Whereas Chocko Williams embodies graciousness.

Speaking of graciousness and nobility in victory, when Warren Tredrea delivered his post-GF speech - the one along the lines of "If anyone doubted us, they can stick it up their arse" - we saw a new low in chip on shoulder management.

Shane from Dockerland nailed it when he reckoned the PA crew spent their post-GF celebrations getting on the blower.

"Hi, is that the bloke who tooted me on the freeway the other day? Yeah, well, ******** you, I just won the GF"

"Hello is that Kelli from Coles who shortchanged me four months ago? Stick it up your arse, I just won the grand final"

"Yeah, g'day is that Miss Johnson from Grade Three? Yeah, well, ******** you, guess who's holding the premiership cup"

The fans, of course, spent their time robbing the players.

sounds like you have a major envy problem there sunshine. Get over it. What's done is done.....

I never said that Choco was a saint, in fact I mentioned that I'd hope he wouldn't complain about anything after round 1. It'd make a nice change.

Read into it what you like.

Hopefully he doesn't get to shy in front of all the cameras and hide his face behind a Record.

What's done is done? Holy buttcrack, I didn't realise I was in the presence of such karmic calm and all-embracing wisdom. What next - if I love something, should I set it free?

Lion by name, lyin by nature.

It didn't lure you in, all siren-like - like a premiership guernsey to steal or a chip to put on your shoulder - it was put here because you are already here. Loitering aimlessly, unable to say out loud that you are annoyed BoganJosh dumped you like the ugly seahags you are.

Well someone had to come here ;)

To many years on top? HAHA.
Wouldn't you like just one ;)

As for making a profit, Football in S.A is very health unlike in the West which I still believe is in debt's in the millions. Im pretty sure we have made more profits in our short AFL history than you ever have.

Debt doesn't mean you're not healthy. WA football is currently in an excellent financial position, both clubs are currently making 7 figure profits. Can't say the same about both SA clubs. F*cken hell, Port win a bloody flag and they only just keep their head above water! What's going to happen to the club after a couple of bad seasons?

And IIRC, Fremantle has made more profits than losses in it's history. The first few years were very profitable. It was only when the team really started to go down the gurgler on field when the financial position of the club worsened badly.

What was the profit that Port made again this year?

1995, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2004 - years that Freo made a profit
1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 - years that Freo made a loss
So half and half. 5 years of profit making 5 years of losses. At the moment the trend is north. And it will continue in 2005 by the looks of things atm.

What is irritating the various posters on here are that you are trolling - you (being Port posters) dont have anything legitimate comments to make its all negative and immature posting. Its as if the Port posters have decided on mass to invade our board and stir up trouble and unnecessary debate. Theres a reason for separate boards.

Carr and Schofield threads have been done to death - that issue is dead - move on !

If you were interest in intelligent and mature debate open a thread on the first round match and discuss matchups and strategy.
Err, I've just had a look at every thread on the Freo board and excluding this one I've found about 18 posts from Port supporters. Most were friendly including questions about how Josh Carr is going, three were unfriendly. This thread is different but what do you expect? Someone has a go at us, don't be surprised if you cop one back. In any case especially at the start there is a fair bit of Port supporters stirring each other. Am I blind, has stuff gone on here in the past that doesn't show up any more or are there some Freo supporters who are super sensitive? Personally I have no particular feelings about Freo other than I hope you go well but not when you are playing us.

Profitable Port
11:02:07 AM Mon 6 December, 2004
Sportal
Port Adelaide has backed up its historic first AFL premiership with an excellent result off the field, registering a consolidated profit of $332,337.

The result comes before paying a $220,000 sub-license distribution to the SANFL.

We pay back to the SANFL $220,000 a year, dosen't matter if we make a profit or loss, plus the millions from catering and car parking all goes to the SANFL. When our licence is payed off if a couple of years time, this figure will grow. Far too much for my liking.

How much do you pay back to the WAFL per year?

"You" is both the singular and plural personal pronoun for the second person.

He could quite conceivably have meant either. Your (singular) misinterpration is exactly that - your (singular) misinterpretation.

If you (singular) need to see "youse" to understand plural, then perhaps your (singular) own command of the English language is not as advanced as you (singular) may like to believe.

Save your (singular) name calling for your (singular) own board.

Pardon me for gate crashing this very entertaining bitch fest but from someone like myself who appreciates such responses like yours i would just like to express my admiration for the above post :) :D

I think this threads attests to the fact that losing Josh Carr ( future Port Captain ) cuts a lot deeper then they would have us believe.
I was wondering how long it would take before the AFC's "Idiot in Residence" would show up! We were asked to come here, what's your excuse?
