Get rid of this rubbish rotational policy.

Hey i have a good idea national selectors ! Why don't we pick the strongest 12 players for each game. yeah it sounds good don't it.

All this rotation does is make players worry more of their place in the side, unsettles the side and devalues a ODI.

I would quit following Australian cricket if they adopted this "Rubbish" rotational policy in Test Matches.

I hope Sri Lanka and RSA give the aussies a spanking while they fiddle and twict hwith this ODI side.

This rotational policy is just ridiculous. It really is. Like you say, it unsettles and the side, and devalues ODI matches as meaningless.

And please stop the crap about this World Cup 07. When that comes around, we will pick our best players for that. In the meantime, cricket will still continue to be played. You do not just throw away 18 months of solid cricket because you want to test players out for a competition in 2007.

Australia deserved the lose today. The side that took the field was no-where near the best it could get. It is absolutely disrespectful to the one-day series, to the Sri Lankan and South African teams, and to the fans. It needs to be cut out immediately.

Umm idiots, guys like Gilly, McGrath etc cannot continue to play every game Australia is scheduled to play if they want to still be playing ijn 12 months, so they have to rest em now and again and when they do they have a chance to give players a shot because as much as you may hate to admit it, within 18 months they wont be in the one day scene at all and Australia will have some idea which players to replace them with

Correct Edward, you lot have to realise that this Aussie Side has been playing non stop since the start of the ashes, with about a 2 week break before the Super Series.

Also, i think we lost because some guy smashed a hundred of 90 odd balls.

Actually, Sri Lanka deserved to win, they were far better than us.

No Australia deserved to lose because they did not pick their best team for the game, and also the bowlers were ordinary. Dorey, Bracken, Hopes are NOT 3 of Australias 4 best bowlers. Yet along with Lee, they made up the Australian attack today.

OK. Keep denying that there are several problems with the Australian cricket team at the moment. Fine with me.

THe problem you have is that you do not understand how cricket games are won and lost.

You do not understand that you cannot flog your oldest bowler into the dirt, you do not understand that a great innings by an all time great one day player won Sri Lanka the game.

So in conclusion, i guess you don't know much about cricket games and the like.

I understand quite well. When you dont select your best team, you lose. Quite simple. I dont need explanations from others.

You do not understand that you cannot flog your oldest bowler into the dirt

From Sunday the 15th, through until Wednesday the 25th, Glenn McGrath has played one game for Australia. And that entailed him bowling 10 overs. Thats all. Thats not good enough. In peak cricket season, you should be expecting to play cricket. Not be taking games off, because you are 'tired'.

If you cant cut playing two games in three days, with nearly a weeks break on either side, then you shouldnt be considered for the team.

Because we had ordinary bowlers playing for us. Thats self-explanatory.

No, I know about cricket. All you know however is to defend the Australian cricket team to the death, without accepting other points of view.

Let's imagine that we pick a 12 and stick to it. Therefore, barring injuries, only those 12 players get a game between now and the world cup. Then, in the lead-up to the World Cup, our best quick bowler is suffering from back injuries and is doubtful to play, our second best quick barely plays, our first choice spinner is found to have used prohibited substances and doesn't play, our best middle order batsman suffers a groin injury and misses games and our second best middle order batsman has called someone a black c___ and misses a game or two.

Fortunately, due to a rotation policy of sorts and ensuring that new players are given a taste of international cricket, the World Cup is not lost because an older fast bowler, a couple of (as yet unproven) all-rounders and a batsman or two are given opportunities in the 18 months leading up to the WC and flourish on the big stage.

Sound familiar?
